Journalist and lawyer Jill Filipovic wrote in a Slate report that the breaking point was apparent over the weekend during Turning Point USA's AmericaFest, "as the Nazis vs. Say-No-to-Nazis fissures broke open."

Trump's 'stealth tax increases' forcing holiday shoppers to 'make some choices': report

Wichita Eagle Opinion Editor Dion Lefler said most voters are feeling the weight of President Donald Trump’s tariffs this holiday season, but elderly grandparents on fixed incomes are definitely catching the worst of it.

“One of the funny things about tariffs — those pesky tax increases President Donald Trump has imposed on imported goods — is they show up where you least expect them. Like on your grocery bill,” Lefler said. “You may have absolutely nothing in your shopping cart but American-grown meat and produce. But that doesn’t mean that tariffs — Trump’s chief weapon in his trade war against the world — aren’t biting you in the budget this Christmas season.”

'These people are monsters': Trump's latest 'repulsive' scandal stuns Dem analyst

CBS News' decision to spike a story on its flagship "60 Minutes" about the efforts of President Donald Trump's administration to deport people to the infamous CECOT prison in El Salvador stunned one Democratic analyst.

Cliff Schecter, a political ad man who worked on President Joe Biden's 2020 campaign, wrote in a new essay on Substack on Tuesday that the decision by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss to cancel the story showed the administration is "lying about something horrific." Weiss said she pulled the segment because it was "not ready" and needed an on-camera appearance by someone in the Trump administration.

'BIG problem': Legal expert says Trump DOJ lied to judge about Todd Blanche's actions

Newly released files in the case of wrongly-deported Salvadoran migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia indicate that the Justice Department has been misrepresenting Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's connection to the case for months, legal expert and American Immigration Council fellow Aaron Reichlin-Melnick posted to X on Tuesday.

Abrego, who for years had a life and family in Maryland, was illegally removed to the infamous Salvadoran CECOT megaprison earlier this year, despite a judge's order prohibiting his deportation to that specific country. After months of public protest, the administration finally repatriated him to the United States, but then immediately filed dubious gang-related charges against him. Abrego's legal team is now seeking the dismissal of these charges on the basis of vindictive prosecution.

Key Trump campaign promise is now the 'punchline to a sad joke': analysis

With President Donald Trump’s massive corruption pulling down billions of dollars for himself and his family, MS NOW producer Steve Benen says it’s easy to forget that Trump originally campaigned on “draining the swamp.”

“As laughable as it might seem in hindsight, Donald Trump told voters that he saw the political establishment as a corrupt cesspool that he’d clean up in ruthless fashion,” Benen said. “… A decade later, amid frequent allegations of White House corruption and reports that the president is profiting from his office in unprecedented ways, that vow has become the punch line to a sad joke. And it’s striking to see the problem spreading in systemic ways as the first year of the Republican’s second term comes to an end.”
