Judge slaps Trump lawyer for dancing around gag order question: 'Can't give me anything'

The Court of Appeals held a hearing Monday about whether to reinstate the gag order imposed on former President Donald Trump blocking him from disclosing certain information about the trial and attacking or threatening court officers in the 2020 federal election interference case — and Trump's attorney, John Sauer, stumbled as the judges demanded he explain his legal position.

The case was heard by a three-judge panel consisting of Judges Patricia Millett and Cornelia Pillard, appointed by President Barack Obama, and Judge Bradley Garcia, appointed by President Joe Biden.

More plea deals coming? Here's what's next for the Fulton 19

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has scheduled a hearing for Tuesday afternoon to consider prosecutors’ request to revoke Harrison Floyd’s bond for allegedly making incendiary statements about witnesses in the 2020 presidential election interference case.

McAfee’s ruling will determine whether the ex-director of Black Voices for Trump will have to return to the same Atlanta jail where Floyd spent several days in August after a grand jury indicted him on charges alleging that he, Donald Trump and 17 of their co-defendants illegally conspired to try to reverse the GOP incumbent Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss to the Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in Georgia and several other states.

Not just Biden — 77-year-old Trump also under age scrutiny

If either Joe Biden or Donald Trump prevails in the November 2024 US elections, the next president will be the oldest in history to take the oath of office.

But while Biden's age and public slips and stumbles have been more widely scrutinized and examined, his blustery Republican rival's missteps are coming under sharper focus too.

'I’m your macho leader': Expert explains what Trump’s 'contempt for the rule of law' shows

Former President Donald Trump's history of racist rhetoric has been amplified over the course of his political career. In an August report, PBS News notes the 2024 MAGA hopeful "has used terms such as 'animal' and 'rabid' to describe Black district attorneys. He has accused Black prosecutors of being 'racist.' He has made unsupported claims about their personal lives. And on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump has deployed terms that rhyme with racial slurs as some of his supporters post racist screeds about the same targets."

During Sunday's episode of MSNBC's Velshi, guest host Charles Coleman Jr. spoke with Yale University professor of philosophy Jason Stanley about the ways race has shown up amid Trump's legal troubles.

The View's Ana Navarro unleashes on Univision/Trump romance: 'What the hell is going on?'

"The View's" Ana Navarro was once a dedicated Republican, but Donald Trump changed that. After years of speaking out against him, the Latina commentator questioned what was really going on with the Spanish network Univision.

It was a ridiculous interview. It was embarrassing. It was an interview with no pushback,” Navarro blasted. “You would have thought they were interviewing Barney the dinosaur. It was a love fest.”

Trump still won't stop talking about the so-called 'pee tape'

The celebrity gossip site TMZ couldn't help but notice that during Donald Trump's Iowa speech Sunday, he once again brought up a supposed tape that showed him watching lewd acts in a Russian hotel room once used by former President Barack Obama.

Among the stories in the dossier about Trump that was passed around Capitol Hill during the 2016 election season was one that while in Russia, Trump rented a specific hotel room previously used by his least favorite president and hired prostitutes to urinate on the bed as he looked on.

'Limited chances of success': Legal analyst predicts Trump gag order appeal will flop

Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance doesn't anticipate Donald Trump will do well before the panel of Washington, D.C., judges on Monday as he appeals the gag order issued in one of his four top cases.

"I think he has limited chances of success here. Because this is a very narrowly tailored restraining order," Vance said. "The judge was careful to say that she was not having any intention or any limitation on his rights to engage in political speech. She lets him have broad latitude there. What he cannot do is engage in the kind of comments that could put people in harm's way, folks involved in the court proceedings, or that could impair the integrity of the process. It's a very limited, highly legal sort of restraining order that we are used to seeing engaged in cases like this, where, frankly, a defendant is incapable of avoiding trying their case in public. Cases are meant to be tried in the courtroom."

'We’re Christians, and we can look past that': Iowa 'relishes' Trump 'vulgarities'

Former President Donald Trump is increasingly embracing his crude side, but Washington Post coverage from his latest Iowa rally revealed that the Republicans there not only loving it, but they're also "relishing" it.

Trump has always been far from one of the prude elders in his generation, but his profanity, "crass" insults, and "vulgarities" are consistently growing. According to the report, however, it's now being promoted by the normally friendly and polite midwesterners of Iowa.

Judge Engoron warned by legal expert over 'pushing the envelope' in fraud trial

In a column for MSNBC, former U.S. House Judiciary Committee counsel Michael Conway implored Judge Arthur Engoron to be careful with the language he uses as he oversees the $250 million financial fraud civil suit filed against Donald Trump and his Trump Organization.

Using the trial of the so-called “Chicago 7" as a jumping-off point, the attorney reminded Engoron that the defendants in that notorious case went out of their way to antagonize Judge Julius Hoffman which seems to be Donald Trump's strategy in a case where Engoron has already found evidence of fraud.

Trump snarls at Fox News for not including any of his supporters in election round-up

Sunday morning Donald Trump lashed out at Fox News and suggested the conservative network is intentionally keeping "TRUMPER" voters off the air during interviews on the upcoming 2024 election.

The former president who floods his Truth Social account with screenshots of polls showing him leading either his GOP presidential nomination opponents or President Joe Biden on a daily basis, complained about the Fox Trump voter slight while also sniping at Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R).

On Truth Social, he sarcastically ranted: "FoxNews worked hard today, and were able to find 3 representative voters to go on the show. One was for Crooked Joe, where the person found nothing mentally wrong with him. Another was for Birdbrain, and the 3rd for Ron DeSanctimonious."

He followed that up by boasting about his polls and hinting Fox is knowingly ignoring his supporters.

"Considering that I’m leading Biden by 11 Points (WAPO), and leading the Republicans by over 50 Points, FoxNews must have worked very hard not to find a TRUMPER?"
