Callous and manipulative: Study says 'malevolent personality traits' dominate Trump voters

PsyPost reports a new psychological study has found that people who claim favorable views of President Donald Trump also tend to score higher on measures of callousness, manipulation, and other malevolent traits—and lower on empathy and compassion.

“Our findings suggest a link between malevolent personality and conservative political ideology, which in our study included positive view of Trump, and that persons with malevolent personality dispositions view political figures with malevolent traits favorably,” said study author Craig Neumann, a Regents Professor of Psychology at the University of North Texas. “Further, people who view malevolent political figures favorably also report less empathy for others and enjoy the suffering of others.”

'Do you see the pattern?' MTG goes to war with 'raging psychopath' Fox News host

Saturday morning, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) went on a tirade aimed at a popular Fox News personality who suggested she's headed to prison.

Greene, who has lately been engaged in attacking other conservatives on a multitude of fronts, became enraged when she saw Mark Levin attacking her on X and responding to one commenter who praised the lawmaker known as "MTG" by writing, "Your (sic) a bigot."

Another commenter wrote, "MTG 2028!!" which led Levin to respond, "Prison?"

That appears to have infuriated the Georgia lawmaker.

" Fox News host Mark Levin is a raging psychopath," she wrote. "He is attacking me, lying about me, and EVEN WORSE in comments in his own post calling Christian’s 'bigots' and says I should go to prison!!! All because I am UNAPOLOGETICALLY AMERICA FIRST and UNAPOLOGETICALLY FIGHTING FOR MY CHILDREN’S GENERATION!!!"

"Ever since I called for a recorded vote on my amendments to defund U.S. taxpayer money to Israel and other foreign countries/foreign aid, Mark Levin has rabidly been attacking me. And then the attacks started from AIPAC. Do you see the pattern? Fox News host Mark Levin, a once hateful NEVER TRUMPER, is 100% Israel FIRST and America LAST!!!" she accused.

Levin also wrote, "Marjorie Traitor GreenE sounds like a lunatic and Marxist-Islamist Jew-hater, repeatedly stabs the president in the back, and trashes conservatives. She’s a favorite and regular guest of the America-trashing fake MAGA podcasters and quoted often by the leftwing media. She has abandoned her congressional district. A complete embarrassment. And now Laura has exposed her as a nasty hypocrite and phony."

'This is not a judge': Jasmine Crockett pokes huge hole in Texas lawmaker arrest warrants

The warrants issued to arrest Texas Democrats who fled the state to stymie a GOP attempt to redistrict the state lack the legal weight to do what the Republicans want them do.

That is the opinion of Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) who was asked, as an attorney, about the FBI reportedly getting involved in tracking the lawmakers down.

Appearing with MSNBC host Ali Velshi on Saturday, she was asked, "Quick question for you: because you're a lawyer, why would [FBI director] Kash Patel take [Texas Republican] John Cornyn's phone call about getting the FBI to round up people? I don't know what the crime is."

"There is no crime, you already know this," the Texas Democrat replied. "And just so people understand, even the warrants that they put out for them, they are signed by the speaker of the [Texas] House. I mean, this is not a law, a law enforcement official. This is not a judge. This is not a prosecutor. This is no one whomsoever would normally sign off on a warrant."

"And that is because it is not a criminal warrant," she elaborated. "This is only giving license to someone who is found within the state of Texas, to then grab them and take them back to the [legislature] chamber. If they take them anywhere other than the chamber, then they are looking at a civil rights violation because they have not broken any laws."

"So this is just a matter of a civil situation and frankly, this is a family situation as far as i'm concerned, because basically, the family known as the legislators in the Texas House have decided that they don't want to come to the table and have a conversation about doing right by Texas," she added. "They have decided that they would steamroll and disrespect their colleagues as well as their constituents in this moment, so that they can appease the mad king."
