This 'craven' act could let GOP keep House majority even if Dems sweep midterms: analysis

A former Democrat representative has highlighted how one "craven" act would let the GOP hold onto their House majority — even if they lose the midterms.

Donald Trump could act on a "craven, but shockingly constitutional" clause should the House flip to a Democrat majority after next year's elections. Steve Israel, writing in The New Republic, confirmed there could be cause for the president to hold a majority through a "possible hijacking" that courts would struggle to reverse.

'MAGA hatred of freedom' fueling Trump turn against Europe: Nobel Prize winner

A turn against Europe from President Donald Trump could be an attempt appease MAGA supporters' "hatred of freedom," according to a Nobel Prize winner.

Economist Paul Krugman believes the loosening grip the U.S. has on Europe is because of internal support for at-home focuses, with it earlier reported that the Trump administration would look to focus military aims on China, rather than on European conflicts. Trump has played a hand in peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, but it seems interest in these conflicts is dwindling in his core supporter group.

'Destroyed in its infancy!' Trump makes major AI policy announcement

President Donald Trump announced a major policy shift on artificial intelligence Monday amid his administration’s efforts to lead AI development on the world stage — much to the chagrin of many prominent members of the MAGA movement.

“There must be only One Rulebook if we are going to continue to lead in AI. We are beating ALL COUNTRIES at this point in the race, but that won’t last long if we are going to have 50 States, many of them bad actors, involved in RULES and the APPROVAL PROCESS,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday.

'Yammering' Trump stage performance earns him 'elderly man' brand

Donald Trump's recent appearance at a FIFA event highlights how he's a full-blown "elderly man" losing the support of his hardcore fans, an analyst wrote Monday.

The president received the FIFA Peace Prize at the World Cup 2026 draw last week, but his "yammering" appearance was more important for highlighting his "obvious decline", according to Heather Digby Parton. The Salon columnist suggested Trump's power base, including that of FIFA president Gianni Infantino, is surrounding Trump with made-up medals and praise.

Morning Mika shames Republican for 'really, really pitiful' meltdown over Trump question

Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) got a dressing down on Monday morning for his performance over the weekend on ABC after he lashed out at "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos who put him on the spot about Donald Trump’s pardon of a cocaine kingpin.

Schmitt, the former attorney general of Missouri before being elected to the US Senate, was asked about the pardon of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted of plotting to flood the US with cocaine. The Missouri lawmaker claimed he was in the dark about the president’s interference on the convicted drug dealer’s part.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is not making any new friends at the Pentagon, as the whole department is facing scrutiny over his attacks on so-called narco-terrorists while giving department intel officials the cold shoulder.

That is according to longtime Washington Post columnist David Ignatius who reported on MS NOW Monday that the Donald Trump appointee’s tenure at the Pentagon, where he has fired people left and right, is now coming back to haunt him during the latest crisis.

Scrapping huge fine on airline that stranded millions is 'in public interest': Trump admin

The Trump administration quietly posted a notice on the Department of Transportation website on Friday announcing that Southwest Airlines would have the remainder of its $140 million fine waived — a charge issued to the airline after it left millions of travelers stranded over the 2022 holiday season.

Southwest still owed approximately $11 million toward the fine, money that has been directed toward affected customers. But DOT officials justified letting the airline off the hook by saying they believed “that this approach is in the public interest.”

Trump's closest friends secretly hate him—but are 'terrified to step out of line': Ex-ally

Former Donald Trump ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has claimed MAGA members are "terrified to step out of line" and disagree with the president.

The Georgia Republican, who recently announced her resignation from Congress, shared in an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes that some in the administration were too scared to disagree with the president for fear of the "nasty Truth Social post" to follow. Trump has used the social media platform to denounce everyone from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to air traffic controllers who refused to work during the government shutdown.

Trump mocked by Gavin Newsom as press office calls for Kennedy Center to be renamed

Gavin Newsom has mocked Donald Trump's appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors, joking that the building should be renamed the "Newsom Center".

It seems as though California Governor Newsom's Press Office was mocking not only Trump's appearance at the event, which honored Sylvester Stallone, KISS, and Gloriay Gaynor, but also the president's recent decision to rename the Institute of Peace. Trump renamed the building the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace, and his appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors last night appeared to be perfect material for Governor Newsom.
