Vice President Joe Biden got a little over-enthusiastic at the health care signing ceremony Tuesday.

Biden shook hands with and hugged President Obama after introducing him and praising his resolve in the fight. He then leaned in toward the president's ear to say something, but the mic was still on and caught his words.

"This is a big fucking deal!" Biden told Obama, as the lawmakers and attendees to the ceremony applauded in anticipation of the president's remarks.

Biden's comment was clearly audible and noticed by many observers. And White House chief spokesman Robert Gibbs didn't pretend otherwise.

"And yes Mr. Vice President, you're right..." he wrote on Twitter minutes later.

Fox News senior White House correspondent Major Garrett had no doubts about it either.

"Yes. Biden said that," he posted on his Twitter feed. "Plain as day. Equally plain is he was right. On either side of the issue it IS that big of a deal."

President Obama signed the bill into law at the emotional and celebratory event.
