Princeton professor and famed black intellectual Cornel West has long been a supporter of President Barack Obama, but he’s recently changed his tune.
In an interview last week, he suggested that Obama has sold out and become “a puppet” of powerful interests, merely promising change and not delivering. West warned that this would trust the U.S. into a “democratic awakening” the likes of which the nation had not seen in decades.
Appearing on an MSNBC panel recently, West remained outspoken.
Amid a very heated discussion of whether President Obama is doing enough for black people in America, he called the president “another black mascot” of “Wall Street oligarchs.” This made civil rights activist Al Sharpton extremely unhappy and the discussion essentially disintegrated from there.

‘Catastrophic,’ ‘beyond shameful,’ and ‘xenophobia-fueled’ Trump administration panned over proposal to slash refugee cap to zero
"An admissions goal of zero would be another low in a global race to the bottom"
Human rights advocates said the Trump administration would be making a "catastrophic" and "grave error" if it followed through on a newly-reported proposal to slash refugee admissions to zero next year.
"It is beyond shameful and a new low, even for this administration, to even consider accepting no refugees to the U.S.," said Ryan Mace, grassroots advocacy and refugee specialist for Amnesty International USA.
Unhinged Trump fan facing multiple charges after stalking Georgia woman and plastering her car with Trump stickers
According to a report in the Gwinnett Daily Post, an overzealous fan of Donald Trump is facing multiple charges -- including stalking --by plastering her car with Trump stickers, harassing her and then following her in his work vehicle.
Sharon Wood of Lawrenceville, who is the vice-chair of the Gwinnett County Democratic Party, admitted that the back of her car is covered in stickers supporting liberal causes, which made her a target for one of President Trump’s boosters.
Meghan McCain erupts after she gets called out for whining that her GOP friends are ‘very upset’ about Trump
"The View" erupted into a shouting match over President Donald Trump's racist smears of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and other Democratic congresswomen, even though all the panelists seemed to agree his remarks were abhorrent.
Co-hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin blasted "self-righteous hypocrite" Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for defending the president's comments, and Meghan McCain challenged Democrats to defeat Trump for re-election.
"This is so bad," McCain said. "It's like nothing I have ever seen, and I don't think anyone in this room has ever seen before, and if you can't beat this, this blatant racism, what does this say about your party?"
