Bernie Madoff, the infamous Ponzi schemer who has been imprisoned since 2009, granted his second jailhouse interview since the beginning of his incarceration. Not only did he tell the Financial Times the long story of his deception and the reason he fell down the rabbit hole of fraud ("I was always outside the club, the club being the New York Stock Exchange and white shoe firms," he said. "They fought me every step of the way.") but some trivia about his life in prison.

“I spend most of my time in my room, reading,” Madoff said. “And – this is my secret – Danielle Steel. Yes, Danielle Steel.”
