Son of former DC mayor Marion Barry charged with PCP possession

The son of former Washington, D.C. mayor and D.C. Council member Marion Barry has been charged with possession with the intent to sell PCP, according to WOTP.

Police officers found five sandwich bags of marijuana and a vial of PCP in the 31-year-old's apartment.

Barry was elected as mayor of D.C. in 1979. In 1990, Police arrested him for possession of crack cocaine, but he was still reelected in 1994. Barry declined to run for a fifth term in 1998.

Police arrested his son in May, after neighbors reported a noise complaint. When police arrived at his apartment, he refused to open his door and jumped out of a window to escape. Police found the drugs "in plain view" after knocking down his door.
