Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) will endorse Texas Gov. Rick Perry for president, CNN reported. Jindal will also be Perry's guest at the Tea Party/CNN Republican presidential debate Monday night.

Jindal is currently on his way to the debate site in Tampa, CNN's sources said.

Another Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, also received a prominent endorsement Monday: that of Tim Pawlenty, who dropped out of the race for the GOP's nomination last month. Pawlenty will attend tonight's debate as Romney's guest.

Jindal rose to prominence in the Republican Party, first as a member in the House of Representatives and then as governor of Louisiana since 2008. When he was elected, he was the youngest governor in U.S. history, at 36 years old. In 2009, he was selected to give the official Republican response to President Barack Obama's first State of the Union.
