In Sean Hannity’s world, President George W. Bush succeeded in killing terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden.
The Fox News host on Thursday noted that bin Laden was dead “thanks to George Bush.”
During a segment on Time magazine’s top 10 news stories of 2011, Democratic consultant Joe Trippi lamented that the death of the al Qaeda leader didn’t make the list.
“Thanks to George Bush,” Hannity interrupted, ignoring the fact that bin Laden had been killed under President Barack Obama’s watch.
“You’d give credit to Bush?” he asked Trippi. “Because if Obama had gotten his way we wouldn’t have gotten bin Laden, you know that.”
“No matter what, Osama bin Laden — getting him is the number one story of the year, I would think,” Trippi replied.
This isn’t the first time that history has been revised in favor of President George W. Bush on Hannity’s show.
Appearing on Hannity in 2009, former Bush spokeswoman Dana Perino declared, “We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush’s term.”

Trump campaign official bizarrely compares president to Mother Teresa: ‘Who has done more for women?’
A former "Apprentice" contestant-turned-Iowa campaign official compared President Donald Trump to Mother Teresa.
Tana Goertz, the key primary state's Trump Team coordinator, claimed the president had done more for women than possibly anyone else in history than the sainted Calcutta nun, reported CBS News.
"There's not a person alive that literally has done so much for a female, for the female population," Goertz said. "I can't think of one person that I could go, except for Mother Teresa. I mean, literally, who has done more for women in office than Donald Trump?"
Goertz, a contestant on the third season of Trump's NBC reality show, said the president would boost the election chances of other Republicans running in next year's election, after last year's midterm losses for the GOP.
‘Manic, unhinged and unnerving’: MSNBC host warns that Trump’s erratic behavior has ‘crossed the threshold’
MSNBC guest host John Heilemann warned on Thursday that President Donald Trump’s behavior has been “manic, unhinged, and unnerving” in recent days — and some fear it will only get worse.
Heilemann was filling in for Nicolle Wallace on “Deadline: White House.”
He noted at the top of the show that Trump’s behavior has driven a consensus this week that he’s even less even-keeled than usual — which is saying a lot.
“The world is reeling and offering a collective judgment of O-M-G and W-T-F,” Heilmann said. He then played a clip of Trump’s bizarre, belligerent, and blatantly racist comments. He claimed that “no one can be trusted,” that Jews who vote for Democrats are “disloyal,” and that he is “the Chosen One.”
Trump is going off the rails because he fears prosecution if he loses re-election: MSNBC’s Morning Joe and Mika
President Donald Trump's recent outbursts have been triggered by his all-consuming fears about the economy tanking his re-election chances, according to MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
The president's behavior has been even more erratic than usual this week, the "Morning Joe" hosts agreed, and they believe he's worried about his sagging poll numbers and a possible recession on the horizon.
"That 'genius' is at a 36 percent now," Scarborough said. "You've actually been saying for the past week or two that you believe that even his more unbalanced behavior that's been noted by The Atlantic, and it's been noted by Jonathan Lemire and the Associated Press, and it's been noted by Gene (Robinson), and it's been noted by conservatives.
