After a six-month investigation, police have arrested 17 students, including four football players, from Texas Christian University (TCU) Wednesday morning for selling marijuana, ecstasy pills and other drugs on campus.

Authorities took the students into custody discovered that they sold a wide variety of drugs, according to TCU360.com. Prescription drugs such as Xanax, Oxycotin, hydrocodone, along with a powdered form of ecstasy commonly called "molly” were also found.

“There’s no doubt all arrested today are drug dealers,” TCU Police Chief Steven McGee said. “These students engaged in hand-to-hand delivery with undercover officers.”

Police made arrests at 5:30 AM Wedesnday after complaints from students, parents, and others in the TCU community. Of the 17 students arrested, 15 were male. The names of the students have not been released to the public.

TCU chancellor Victor Boschini urged in a press conference that the crime only represented a small percentage of students at the university.

"99.9 percent of the kids here do the right thing," he said. "And we want to make sure that the kids that aren’t are not at TCU.”
