On his show Monday night, Current TV host Keith Olbermann lampooned Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) for mistaking an article from the satirical news outlet The Onion for real news.
Fleming or his staff posted a link to the article, titled “Planned Parenthood Opens $8 Billion Abortionplex,” on the conservative congressman’s Facebook page.
The link was deleted off his page after commenters noted it was fake.
The satirical article made a number of outrageous claims, such as Planned Parenthood changing its slogan to “No Life Is Sacred” and the new Abortionplex having its own three-story nightclub.
“That’s from The Onion, I knew there was something wrong there. The Onion is a satire site. That is what you or I would have said. But not Congressman Fleming of Louisiana,” Olbermann said.
“He posted the article on his Facebook page, complete with the comment, ‘More on Planned Parenthood abortion by the wholesale.'”

Eric Trump bashes the children of politicians profiting off their family name to enrich themselves: ‘It is sickening’
President Donald Trump third child blasted children of politicians profiting from their relationship during a Saturday night appearance on Fox News with Jeanine Pirro.
"So where does Joe Biden get off been so pompous and above it all?" Pirro asked.
"If I was doing the same thing that that family was doing I’d be in jail," Eric Trump said.
"Why is it that every family in politics enriches themselves?" he asked. "It is sickening."
Trump ‘has done nothing wrong’: Lindsey Graham does not think ethnic cleansing is an impeachable offense
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) slammed President Donald Trump for allowing Turkey's ethnic cleansing of the Kurds in Syria, but then defended the president against impeachment during a Saturday night appearance on Fox News.
Graham told Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro that he worried that 15,000 ISIS fighters could escape, allowing the terrorist caliphate to reconstitute.
The South Carolina Republican declared that America "will not tolerate" ethnic cleansing.
But then he was asked about impeachment.
"Impeachment is a bunch of bull," Graham declared. "It is BS."
"The president has done nothing wrong," Graham argued.
Trump may ‘undo his presidency’ — with Republicans backing impeachment: CNN’s conservative anchor
President Donald Trump's presidency is in peril as Republican lawmakers condemn the administration for green-lighting Turkey's ethnic cleansing of Kurds in northern Syria.
"President Trump this week set fire to the emoluments clause by announcing his own resort would host the G-7 summit. His Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, set fire to his boss’s innocence admitting on camera to the very thing Trump is being investigated for and possibly impeached over," CNN's S.E. Cupp said.
"Donald Trump has put the Republican Party through a lot. Most have gone willingly along with him -- kids in cages, a trade war, protecting Putin, honoring Kim Jong-Un, breaking the law, the lies, the insults, the fake news, the rape allegations. Defending the president over the indefensible has become something of a cottage industry for Republican lawmakers, few of whom have ever dared to call him out," she noted.
