On Monday night's The Late Show with David Letterman, First Lady Michelle Obama talked about Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog, her work with the group Joining Forces, and about one of the hazards of being one of the most recognizable people on the planet, the fact that she can't ever really just go somewhere on the spur of the moment.
Letterman asked her if, for example, she could just announce that she's going to the 7-11 for a Slurpie.
"I've threatened to do it," she said, but added that it would make, "a lot of people crazy." She imitated a Secret Service agent, saying, "You see people talking into their wrists, 'Is she kidding?'"
She then told a story about a "covert move" she and her assistant made, running out to Target, where she met a woman on "the detergent aisle" who had a very important question for her.
