Police in Hartford, Connecticut arrested a Catholic school teacher and his wife Tuesday evening for allegedly growing marijuana out of their backyard, according to The Hartford Courant.

Christopher and Kristine Gallagher were charged with cultivating more than 1 kilogram of marijuana, possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and conspiracy to commit those crimes. The husband was a teacher and lacrosse coach at Northwest Catholic High School for eight years and has been placed on administrative leave by the school.

Authorities said that they haven't discovered any traces of marijuana sold at school by Gallagher, who posted bail at $150,000 while his wife posted a $50,000 bail.

Local Hartford police partnered with federal agents to seize 90 plants

from the Gallagher home, including four pounds of dried marijuana, three guns and $2,200 in cash.
