A white man from Indianapolis was arrested early Friday morning after he attacked another man who used a racial slur to refer to a black woman, according to The Indianapolis Star.
Jay Paul Clements, 28, allegedly struck a 23 year old in the face with a glass cup around 1 a.m. at Katz Pub, creating a bloody mess by the time police arrived.
Witnesses told police that the confrontation began after the younger man repeatedly called a black woman at the bar "the 'n-word." That's when the two began arguing, and the conflict escalated from there.
Both men sustained minor cuts and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital. Clements was arrested on a charge of battery causing injury, a Class A misdemeanor.
The women did not come forward, police told ABC affiliate RTV 6.
