Police in New York state said on Sunday the woman they arrested on suspicion of stealing money and jewelry from a professional football player and other men is part of a gang of women behind a string of robberies in Florida.

WNBC-TV reported that 25-year-old Subhanna Beyah was arrested in Queens on an outstanding warrant from Miami, Florida, where she allegedly stole $400,000 worth of jewelry from New York Giants player Shaun Rogers in March 2013.

Rogers told Miami police he took Beyah to his hotel room after meeting her at a local nightclub, then fell asleep. He allegedly woke up to find Beyah gone and himself unable to get into the safe in his room. After hotel staff helped him gain access, Roger reported a pair of earrings and a watch, each worth $100,000, as missing.

Rogers' story to authorities fits in with encounters reported by other alleged victims, who told police they would meet the women at upscale bars, then take them home, but then lose consciousness after either taking a drink from them or leaving one unattended.

The Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel reported that one of Beyah's alleged cohorts, 27-year-old Keshia Clark, turned herself in to authorities in Miami on June 27. Two more members of the group, 23-year-old Ryan Elkins and 25-year-old Johnnina Miller, remain at large.
