(Reuters) - Former U.S. President George W. Bush underwent a surgical procedure at a Dallas hospital on Tuesday to have a stent placed in his heart for a blocked artery, U.S. media reported.

Bush was "in high spirits, eager to return home tomorrow and resume his normal schedule on Thursday," spokesman Freddy Ford was quoted as saying in the Dallas Morning News.
