Even while acknowledging a decline in overall violent crime in the U.S., Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) insisted on accusing President Barack Obama's administration of race-baiting in an interview with conservative radio host Steve Malzberg.
"I'm glad somebody in this administration finally admitted because they're constantly screaming about all the hate violence and all of this kind of stuff," Gohmert told Malzberg on Monday. "Of course we know that this president and this administration has done more to stir up racial tension and violence than any administration since, you know, the 60s. I thought that we were going to have a post-racial president and he’s become the president of division, of envy, of jealousy."
But Attorney General Eric Holder's proposal to do away with minimum sentencing guidelines for non-violent drug-related crimes still irked Malzberg.
"They're just gonna decide which laws to follow and which parts of laws to follow," Malzberg complained. "This is insane."
"This is their mode of operation," Gohmert said in agreement. "They just don't follow the laws they don't wanna follow. They don't enforce the ones they don't wanna enforce."
