Answers in Genesis's Ken Ham placed billboards designed to "reach out to atheists" in San Francisco and New York City's Times Square over the weekend. Ham's organization runs a widely mocked creationist museum in Kentucky, and Ham himself is fond of insisting that humans aren't related to apes.

The signs read "To all our atheist friends: Thank God you're wrong," and include a link to Answers in Genesis's website. Ham describes the point of the campaign in an article available at the link:

In a friendly way, we want to reach out to people in secularized parts of the country and share the hope we have in Christ. Atheists live in a world of ultimate meaninglessness and purposelessness. But the good news is that God sent His Son to offer the free gift of salvation. There is purpose and meaning in life. And we thank God for that.

Those atheists who accept Ham's "friendly" offer will find the environs less than hospitable. The second link on the website is to the new issue of Answers magazine, in which atheists can learn about how "God has given us many valuable clues...to help us accurately reconstruct these testaments [dinosaurs] to His creative power!" Such clues are necessary, the article asserts, because "when we start with man’s reasoning instead of God’s Word, our efforts will ultimately lead us to the wrong conclusions."

Other articles include one penned by Ham himself, which "points out that comparisons with Noah's day are hard deny. Judgment is coming -- of that we can be sure."
