Homeless man sentenced to seven years in prison for firebombing Wendy Davis' office

A judge sentenced a homeless man to seven years in prison for firebombing the office of Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis.

Cedric Steele pleaded guilty Monday to lighting a bag filled with six Molotov cocktails March 20, 2012, and throwing them at the third-floor office of the Texas Democrat.

An employee quickly used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, and no one was hurt.

Davis, who gained national fame in June 2013 for her filibuster against a bill restricting abortion access, was not in her office at the time.

The 42-year-old Steele, who has a history of mental illness, told KVUE-TV he was a CIA agent who had been raised from the dead and captured Osama bin Laden.

He cited a Taser incident in Michigan as one of the reasons he went to see Davis.

"The other reason was to give her a piece of the alien wing, so that I can get some senatorial help," Steele said.

He told the TV station he stored pieces of alien creatures in the attic of a vacant home where he’d been living in Fort Worth before his arrest.
