In Kentucky, whiskey fungus fuels lawsuits

After then-teenager Kyle Rittenhouse traveled to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to defend local businesses from protesters demonstrating against the 2020 police shooting of Jacob Blake, he entered an altercation that led to him fatally shooting two people and injuring a third. He became a right-wing hero after he was acquitted of all charges in that incident, with a jury finding he acted in lawful self-defense.

But he now faces a civil suit from Gaige Grosskreutz, the surviving person he shot — and this week, he appeared on OANN's "Real America with Dan Ball" to complain about his new legal predicament.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) on Friday led a Congressional delegation visiting jailed Jan. 6 defendants, and the far-right Congresswoman from Georgia afterward ducked a question from a reporter over whether the visit served to downplay the attack on the Capitol.

Greene led the visit of House Oversight Committee members from both parties, ostensibly to inspect conditions under which the 20 Jan. 6 defendants are being held at the Washington D.C. jail, who she called “political prisoners.”

Two parents in Philadelphia have been arrested after police found their child zip-tied in a dog cage, reported NBC News on Friday.

"Philadelphia Police Department officers responded to the house on Glenview Street around 12:52 p.m. for a report of screaming. They found two partially clothed children, ages 3 and 5, crying and wandering around the back of the residence, according to a news release," reported Mirna Alsharif. "Inside the home, officers discovered a third child locked in a dog cage secured with a zip tie, police said in the release. The child, who was found naked, is a 6-year-old boy, NBC Philadelphia reported, citing police."
