Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is out of a job at Fox News for the second time.
Politico reported on Tuesday that Fox News declined to renew the former Alaska governor's contract, and that the "network had amicably parted ways."
As of June 1, Palin was no longer an employee at Fox News, a network spokesperson said.
According to Politico, Palin was expected to make guest appearances on Fox News from time to time.
Following her failed 2008 vice presidential bid, Palin became a go-to pundit at Fox News. The network went so far as to install a studio in her home.
But she has also locked horns with other networked personalities. Most recently, she indirectly accused Fox News host Megyn Kelly of re-victimizing Jill and Jess Duggar, who had been molested by their brother.
In 2011, Fox News chief Roger Ailes explained why he put Palin on his payroll in the first place.
"I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings," he said.
