Gary Johnson’s unique political admission about Aleppo on ‘The View’: I f*cked up

After an unfortunate answer on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Thursday, Gary Johnson is trying to find ways to fix his gaffe.

In an appearance on "The View," Johnson admitted he messed up. "No excuse," he admitted. "I was thinking about it in terms of acronym: ALEPPO. That's no excuse, what so ever, but the dynamics in play in Syria are that you've got the Assad regime up against the free Syrian army, which we support, that are allied with the Islamists, ISIS, and you can't make this stuff up. We support the free Syrian army. The free Syrian army we've heavily armed. Those arms end up in ISIS hands. This is a result of us supporting regime change, which I maintain, when it comes to regime change, in my lifetime, that has turned out to not be positive. I can't think of a single example where that has turned out."

When asked if he thought the question was a "gotcha" question and if it is "fair game" he agreed that the question is absolutely fair game to ask him and any presidential candidate. "Hey, it's how you deal with adversity that ultimately determines success, I mean, that's all of our lives."
