Republicans set to confirm Trump-nominated federal judge who compared abortion to slavery
It was only a matter of time before people began publishing receipts on President Donald Trump’s federal judge nominees — and his pick for the 6th circuit court is a doozy.
According to HuffPost, Judge John Bush, who is up for a lifetime appointment presiding over the 6th circuit court, once compared abortion to slavery and called them “the two greatest tragedies in our country” on his extremely right-wing blog where he wrote under the pseudonym “G. Morris.”
Last month, Bush was grilled by the Senate about his controversial blog and told Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) that he “regretted” many of the opinions expressed there and claimed he wouldn’t let his opinions taint his rulings from the bench.
Bush’s confirmation, which the Daily Beast calls a “foregone conclusion,” is staunchly opposed by liberal groups like NARAL Pro-Choice, whose members were seen wearing “Who is G. Morris?” shirts during his Senate testimony last month. He was also the subject of the #StopBush hashtag.
