To protest a Confederate monument in the wake of "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this month, demonstrators in Virginia Beach held a "mock slave auction."
As recorded by Virginian Pilot's Alissa Skelton, the protesters pretended to "auction off" Shaun Brown, a Democratic congressional candidate and community organizer from the area.
The mock auction is presumably intended to shed light on the institution of slavery that the Confederate Army fought for.
