‘Apparently my haircut is considered a neo-Nazi statement’: Colorado man escapes knife attack after being confused for a fascist
A Colorado man’s new haircut almost landed him in the grave.
Joshua Witt, 26, claims his very tight gentleman’s haircut was mistaken for a different kind of fashionable look and a confused anti-fascist attacked him with a knife after seeing his new ’do.
“Apparently I look like a neo-nazi and got stabbed for it … luckily I put my hands up to stop it so he only stabbed my hand…. please keep in mind there was no conversation between me and this dude I was literally just getting out of my car,” Witt’s Facebook post reads.
He escaped serious injury, needed just three stitches in his left hand. Since the ugly encounter, Witt told Raw Story he has been “receiving a lot of death threats.”
Witt claims he was pulling into a Steak ’n Shake in Sheridan, Colorado to grab a bite when the incident occurred.
“All I hear is, ‘Are you one of them neo-Nazis?’ as this dude is swinging a knife up over my car door at me,” the Facebook post reads.
“I threw my hands up and once the knife kind of hit, I dived back into my car and shut the door and watched him run off. The dude was actually aiming for my head.”
Tensions across the US have been high after the fatal rally in Charlottesville and even the peaceful one in Boston Saturday, where somehow peace was kept as white supremacists and anti-protesters met again.
The bloody incident rattled Witt, and he feels people are now extremely confused as the hateful messages keep pouring through.
“I feel this is a result of lack knowledge within other cultures and history and that’s going to lead to fear and panic which causes people to react in a negative way,” Witt told Raw Story.
Nothing is planned for Colorado, but Witt isn’t taking any chances, mentioning he may seek a new look soon.
