Shively police recruit Trenton McDuffie posted homophobic tweets and racial slurs about African Americans in 2016.
In response to Harriet Tubman being on the $20 bill, McDuffie posted "WTF IS THIS???"
He also posted photos wearing Confederate shirts saying: "The south will rise again."
Shively Lt. Col. Josh Myers said the investigation into McDuffie was taken seriously.
"We take this kind of thing very seriously. We don't condone or tolerate any insensitive information being posted or put out in any way by any of our employees," Shively Lt. Col. Josh Myers told WDRB News.
