A superintendent for a Texas school district apologized this week after realized he had publicly posted a racist message on Facebook.

According to Chron.com, Onalaska ISD Superintendent Lynn Redden posted the remark in response to a friend who shared a story about a loss for the Texans NFL team.

Redden blamed Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson for the loss.

"That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I've seen in the NFL," he wrote. "When you need precision decision making you can't count on a black quarterback."

Redden later said that he deleted the post because he realized it could be seen by the public.

"I totally regret it," he told Chron.com in a phone interview.

The Onalaska educator insisted that the post disparaging black quarterbacks was not meant to be racist.

"Over the history of the NFL, they have had limited success," he explained.
