Rep. John Kennedy (R-LA) told press Wednesday that he doesn't want to see prosecutor Rachel Mitchell "go catwoman" on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.

"I’m not interested in seeing Ms. Mitchell go cat woman on anybody," Kennedy told CNN's Manu Raju.

It's unclear what exactly the Louisiana Republican meant by the comment, but some prominent Twitter users suggested that it was misogynist.

"Charming," Lawfare Blog's executive editor Susan Hennessy commented.

"If the Sen Judiciary GOP thought that having a female attorney do the questioning would protect them from saying sexist things...." former Obama campaign aide Ronald Klain pointed out.
