Republicans choose Arizona prosecutor Rachel Mitchell to question Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Ford: WaPo

Published

The Maricopa County sex crimes division has had a difficult time conducting prosecutions in the Arizona county, with a serious backlog of sex crimes under Sheriff Joe Arpaio. That prosecutor in question, Rachel Mitchell, has now been chosen to question Dr. Christine Blasey Ford during the Judiciary Committee hearing.

According to The Washington Post, two people familiar with the decision said that she would be the likely choice to handle the hearing, because no Republican woman has ever served on the Judiciary committee. There are still no GOP women on the committee and they are fearful of the optics of several old, white, men hammering a sexual assault survivor.

Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) confirmed the news late Tuesday. The prosecutor will take a leave of absence from Maricopa County for a few days to go onto the Senate payroll for this specific reason.

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell said that the move is unprecidented.

Rocah mocked the president for being "so shady, so corrupt, so unlawful, that you’re willing to fight the release of your tax returns all the way to the Supreme Court."

Trump says cough drop in Pelosi’s mouth was her teeth falling out

Published

President Donald Trump lashed out at Speaker Nancy Pelosi Sunday on Twitter instead of defending himself against accusations of bribery.

Pelosi did her weekly press conference at the end of the week while sucking on either a cough drop or a mint. It wouldn't be shocking if it was the former, as Pelosi was clearing her throat and also drinking water while speaking to the press.

Trump decided it was neither, and instead, it was false teeth falling out of her mouth.

"Because Nancy’s teeth were falling out of her mouth, and she didn’t have time to think!" Trump tweeted in response to a video from the press conference.

Conservative pens scathing op-ed with sarcastic defense of Republicans’ humiliating hypocrisy

Conservative columnist Max Boot wasn't shocked when he saw Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) proclaim he had no intention of being an independent juror during President Donald Trump's impeachment trial. The Trump antagonist penned his Sunday column dripping with sarcasm.

His fellow conservative colleague, Jennifer Rubin, similarly said that no one expected anything better from Graham. Boot extended his disdain to the entire Republican Party.
