CNN's Van Jones slams Saudi cover up: If I 'accidentally kill' someone I call the ambulance -- I don't cut them up and put them in boxes

For CNN's Van Jones it seemed to be a case of "laugh to keep from crying" as he tried to make sense of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's decision to give the Saudis a few more days to come up with an explanation about what happened to missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who is presumed to have been murdered, likely by a hit squad sent by the crown prince.

"I just can't get over the fact they're being patient with them investigating themselves," said co-panelist S.E. Cupp, who called on Congress to bypass the president and open their own investigation.

"Yeah, because right now even the coverup is ludicrous," Jones said. "If I accidentally kill somebody, I call an ambulance. I don't call somebody to cut them up -- "

"And stuff them in boxes," chimed in Cupp.

"Even the cover story they've come up with is as incriminating as anything else you could come up," Jones replied, laughing "The idea that these people need another couple of days to come up with a second draft on that? I say no thank you, we need to get to the bottom of this ourselves."
