Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Wagner argued recently that Democrats had "weaponized" crimes against women in order to smear Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the GOP candidate referenced last week's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Kavanaugh and his accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.
"I was shocked and disgusted," Wagner opined, "by the way Judge Kavanaugh and his family had been treated. It has become crystal clear to all Americans that there are those whose only wish is a destruction of a duly-elected president."
Wagner acknowledged the "agony" of Blasey Ford, who he did not identify by name.
"We cannot allow legitimate women's issues to be weaponized by the politically immoral," he continued. "We cannot any longer tolerate scorched-earth tactics for political gain."
"Enough is enough!" Wagner exclaimed. "It is time to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court where he belongs."
The candidate concluded by urging Americans to "return to manners, return to respect" by supporting Kavanaugh's confirmation.
