As Beto O'Rourke's insurgent campaign against Sen. Ted Cruz gains steam, Cruz has stayed out of the limelight.
Political analysts believe that by maintaining a low profile, Cruz hopes to coast to reelection on prior support. But it appears as if Cruz is actively hiding from reporters.
Mark Wilson, editor of the Dallas Morning News, announced Monday that Cruz—unlike O'Rourke—had refused an interview with the outlet.
"For those asking why we had a news article about @BetoORourke's editorial board interview but not one about @SenTedCruz, it's because Cruz declined our invitation to meet with the board. Meeting was to have taken place ... right now," Wilson noted on Twitter.
