On Thursday, Eddie Scarry, the media reporter for a conservative outlet the Washington Examiner, was blasted on Twitter after posting a candid image of Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) attempting to criticize her outfit.
Ocasio-Cortez has been outspoken about her financial situation, and how she lacks the funds to afford a Washington D.C. apartment.
Scarry said Ocasio-Cortez didn’t appear to lack money since she had on a nice outfit. Scarry, has a history of taking unwanted photos of women. “Most notably, at parties that took place on the weekend of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last year, Mr. Scarry surreptitiously snapped two shots of women’s posteriors and posted the photos on FishbowlDC,” The Observer reported.
“Hill staffer sent me this pic of Ocasio-Cortez they took just now. I’ll tell you something: that jacket and coat don’t look like a girl who struggles,” he tweeted.

Twitter roasted Scarry for his comment.
I, too, am disappointed Ocasio didn’t show up wearing only a wooden barrel held up by suspenders and carrying her few belongings in a bindle https://t.co/HqLEo5bvEP

There’s a thing called credit cards, or borrowing clothes, or having clothes from years earlier. There’s also a thing called being a hack journalist who makes stupid, ignorant, creepy remarks a/b women — see also, your tweet. & there’s a thing called IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

Or, yknow, just having money for clothes from normal jobs. You can grab a suit for like $100 and have it tailored for like $20.
That doesnt make me a millionaire that I know this.
I have to wonder what eddie does that he DOESNT know this

I too am not rich, and yet I can afford clothes. Weird!

Not even close to being the most important thing about this creepy-ass tweet, but are you aware of Nordstrom Rack?

breaking: young progressive saves up over the course of a year so she can dress appropriately for her new professional job and procure housing nearby.

First of all she’s a CongressWOMAN and you should delete the post and apologize.

Here’s something, did you know that you can buy suits, dresses, jackets, bags and shoes at Goodwill? I got a like-new coach bag there to weeks ago for $14 (reg $250). Lucky brand jeans for $7 (reg $90). Brand new Sperry topsiders for $15 (reg $55).

Not ONLY are you a fucking creep, you’re an ignorant, sexist one to boot! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCKITUDE! 🎉🎉
— Alicia Lutes (@alicialutes) November 15, 2018
right, no one in their fucking life ever bought a good suit before their first day at an important job, if she wasn’t dressed correctly you would be tweeting about how she doesn’t have sufficient respect. jesus you people are so basic and so transparent
