The defense attorney for Michael Flynn’s former business partner complained in federal court that his client never would have been indicted — were he not partners with Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor.
Bijan Kain was charged with conspiracy and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government.
Kian attorney Mark MacDougall argued that the case would have been resolved “civilly or administratively” were it not for the relationship with Flynn, Politico reported.

“Even if [Kian] did not have any business partner in this case, it would have been brought,” Gillis told the judge.
