The Wisconsin Republican Party on Monday attacked its own state's largest city after it announced that it would host the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

In response to news that the 2020 DNC would be held in Milwaukee, the Wisconsin GOP said that the city had a "long history of socialism" that made it "an obvious choice to host" the Democrats' convention.

In the party's press release, the Wisconsin GOP also falsely accuses Democrats of wanting to eliminate both air travel and cows, while also taking shots at both Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

"The people of Wisconsin are far more practical than today's socialist-embracing Democratic Party gives them credit for," the Wisconsin GOP writes in its conclusion. "We’ll get to reap the economic benefits of a convention, while they show the state up close why this bunch should never be trusted to run the country."
