Job recruiting company Cynet Systems is in hot water after a job posting went viral, but not for a good reason.
A LinkedIn job posting asked for a “mid-senior level business development” person, but under the position’s top qualification they listed “preferably caucasian,” WUSA wrote.
Uh, hey @cynetjobs – what’s with this?
Your job listing for a mid-senior level business development position’s top qualification is “Preferably Caucasian”
How could you POSSIBLY think that’s okay? pic.twitter.com/DPWzpgXqqE

Cynet Systems is one of Virginia’s most popular companies but now they’re being asked about racial discrimination in job practices.
It’s unknown if Cynet Systems was hiring for their own company or someone else, but the person who made the job posting has since been fired and the company apologized.
Cynet apologizes for the anger & frustration caused by the offensive job post. It does not reflect our core values of inclusivity & equality. The individuals involved have been terminated. We will take this as a learning experience & will continue to serve our diverse community.ADVERTISEMENT

It’s also unknown if the fired person was copying what he or she was given or extrapolated from the job posting.
