Pence has full-blown case of ‘snowflake persecution complex’ after his warning to Liberty U grads: columnist

Published

on

On Sunday, Vice President Mike Pence gave a commencement address at Liberty University, warning students that they faced discrimination for their Christian worldview.

“Some of the loudest voices for tolerance today have little tolerance for traditional Christian beliefs,” Pence said. “As you go about your daily life, just be ready because you’re going to be asked not just to tolerate things that violate your faith, you’re going to be asked to endorse them. You’re going to be asked to bow down to the idols of the popular culture.”

Writing in Esquire, columnist Charles Pierce noted the irony of Pence’s statements.

“If there’s a more conspicuous combination of snowflake and drama queen in American politics than Mike Pence, I don’t want to pass the collection plate to him,” Pierce wrote.

He concludes that Pence’s melodramatic advice is hardly reality based.

“I don’t think any of the cherub-faced Liberty U. grads have anything to worry about at the local multiplex, or from Joe Biden. Have a good summer, kids, and don’t worry about Mike Pence,” he concludes.

We try to turn the volume down and ignore it, and that may work for a while. But it won’t last. It can’t. It’s getting worse, and we can all see where we’re headed.

Calling into MSNBC's "AM Joy" on Sunday morning, Democratic presidential contender Julian Castro ripped into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a serial sexual predator and said that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the GOP are to blame for his being on the court.

Speaking with host Joy Reid, Castro renewed a call he made late Saturday night for Kavanaugh to be impeached over fresh allegations of sexual assault  before getting down to the heart of the matter.

"Do you believe there was misconduct in this case by the FBI and the Department of Justice or even by the senators who seemed uninterested in finding out of what really happened with this very brief investigation of Mr. Kavanaugh?" Reid asked.

In a blunt tweet issued on Sunday morning, Democratic Presidential contender, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of lying to the U.S. Senate during his confirmation hearings and said he must be impeached.
