'Damage will be done': NY Times writer warns of ominous future — even if Trump loses

Former President Donald Trump has already delivered a fatal blow to American democracy by training his MAGA minions in the "habits of autocracy," a new political analysis contends.

New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie Tuesday issued a dire warning about the underlying message of the Republican presidential candidate's false Hurricane Helene response claims — and future implications.

Former President Donald Trump slammed Vice President Kamala Harris' "60 Minutes" interview in a Truth Social rant that made no reference to his decision to duck out of the television appearance at the last minute.

Trump took to his social media site Tuesday morning to rail against Harris who — unlike the Republican presidential nominee — appeared on the CBS News show Monday evening as originally planned.

'Vance is non-issue': Report finds Trump's running mate snubbed by hometown GOP candidates

Sen. J.D. Vance is a non-entity in his own home state where voters and politicians say former President Donald Trump's running mate leaves them either apathetic or outraged, according to a new report.

Vance (R-OH) seldom appears in Republican campaign ads in several of Ohio's battleground congressional districts — and few politicians drop his name despite local roots and proximity to Trump, Politico reported Tuesday.

Running in the GOP in deep-blue Prince George’s is tough — but Michael Riker is trying

Ted Cruz goes quiet on abortion

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has been a loud anti-abortion crusader throughout his political career.

But as reproductive rights loom over the election season as a key issue for voters, Cruz is uncharacteristically quiet.

The Texas Republican, running for a third term in the Senate, is locked in a tight race against U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, D-Dallas, who has made restoring access to abortion and blaming Cruz for the toppling of Roe v. Wade central to his campaign.

'Sham effort': Report claims Trump stymied investigation into Kavanaugh sex abuse claims

Donald Trump prevented the Federal Bureau of Investigations from investigating Brett Kavanaugh — even as the then-president claimed publicly its agents had "free rein" to look into sexual misconduct allegations levied against his then-Supreme Court justice nominee, according to a new report.

The Washington Post revealed Tuesday an imminent new report from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) about limitations Trump quietly put on the FBI in September 2018 — then denied those limitations were in place as senators were tasked with confirming the nominee's position on the nation's highest court, the Washington Post revealed Tuesday

'This is how democracy dies': Expert slams state bill that would withhold electoral votes

The Lincoln Project's Philip Germain sounded the alarm Monday, noting that the Republican-led legislature in West Virginia has proposed a bill that would withhold the state's electoral votes if it believes there was election fraud. It would only apply to the presidential race despite other candidates on the ballot.

"Whereas, in the 2024 election cycle there have been, to date, two assassination attempts on the Republican nominee for President of the United States while threats of assassination of the Republican nominees for president and vice president abound. The federal government, under the current Democrat-led regime, has utterly failed, and continues to fail, in a suspicious manner, in its absolute duty to adequately protect the Republican nominee for president," is just one of the justifications listed in the bill.
