Trump family member spills on 'noticeable difference' in ex-president's 'cognitive issues'

Donald Trump has always had some level of difficulty conveying coherent ideas, but things are getting much "worse" in his brain, according to a family member on Sunday.

'That’s what men do': Trump's MAGA fans defend 'Black Nazi' Robinson's internet comments

In interviews with supporters of Donald Trump who turned out for the former president's rally in Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday, more than a few of the MAGA faithful admitted they don't find gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson's frequent posting on pornographic website to be a deal breaker and they are standing by him.

Earlier in the week CNN dropped a bombshell report tracking comments the already controversial Robinson made on the "Nude Africa" adult website that included calling himself a "Black Nazi," stating he wanted to own slaves and descriptions of sexual acts he enjoys including those with his sister-in-law.

With Trump ignoring the controversy during his speech, some North Carolina followers of the former president claimed they are sticking with Robinson just like they are standing by Trump despite his conviction on 34 felony counts in Manhattan, reports the Washington Post.

As 70-year-old Bob Judson explained, "I didn’t put much credence in it. We’ve all done things in our past that we’re sorry for. Some of the things are crazy," before adding, “I mean if we just went on that, we wouldn’t be here for Trump, would we?”

Trump rallygoer Connie Wittmer, after having some of Robinson's comments on the porn site described to her, admitted, “That disturbs me,” but was noncommittal over whether it will change her vote.

Kirk Giles, 50, asserted that it is kind of a guy thing.

“There’s not a man alive that’s never looked at porn or did something stupid on porn because we’re men. That’s what men do," he admitted.

Pressed on Robertson's praise of Nazism, he offered, "There’s a lot of men that say some stupid stuff on those porn sites. The thing is, you say some stupid stuff just to get attention. People strive for attention. There’s attention-seekers out there.”

According to 34-year-old Democrat Rich Smith of Wilmington, he's not surprised Trump's MAGA fans have no problem with Robinson.

“In this day and age, you’re kind of like, ‘Oh, a terrible news story?’ They’ll just says it’s fake news, and move on from there. And nothing will change," he told the Post.

After host Kristen Welker shared a clip of Vance attempting to pin the blame on Donald Trump assassination attempts on Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats, she asked the Pennsylvania Democrat, "Senator, what's your response to Senator J.D. Vance?"

"I don't know. Who is actually listening to what Vance says?" Fetterman replied with a smile. "It's been months already; no one's really listening to him anymore."

Watch: MSNBC panel dissolves in laughter at reasons for Trump to duck another debate

On Sunday morning, the entire panel on MSNBC's "The Weekend" burst into uncontrollable laughter after co-host Alicia Menendez made fun of Donald Trump scrambling for a reason to avoid another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Saturday morning, Harris agreed to the CNN debate only for Trump to shoot it down at a North Carolina rally later in the day by saying it was "too late" to debate while also admitting that he would be amenable to one on Fox News.

After sharing the clip, Menendez admitted "I'm an introvert," before continuing, "and I want to be invited to your party. I don't want to go to your party. That sounds a lot like what I have to say when I am trying to find a way out."

'Her husband is Jewish!' CNN's Tapper snaps at Tom Cotton for calling Harris antisemitic

Jake Tapper's interview with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on CNN Sunday morning went briefly off the rails as the two talked over each other after the Republican lawmaker accused Vice President Kamala Harris of hating Israel because he believes she is antisemitic.

That ended up being too much for the "State of the Union" host who called out the GOP lawmaker and exclaimed, "Her husband is Jewish!"

With Tapper asking his guest about Donald Trump's recent comments that Jews would be to blame if he loses in November, Cotton continued to attack Harris by saying she is no friend of Israel and Tapper insisting he was talking about the former president's tenuous relationship with American Jews.

"Jake, Donald Trump, again has been saying for months that anyone who cares about Israel, anyone who cares about the fate of the U.S./Israel alliance should vote for him", Cotton attempted. "They shouldn't vote for Kamala Harris because Kamala Harris has consistently been the most anti-Israel voice"

"When was the last time Kamala Harris spoke about combating antisemitism?" Cotton asked.

"Her husband is Jewish and is in charge of a group about combating antisemitism in the United States!" Tapper shot back.

"But she has consistently been opposed to what Israel needs to win," Cotton parried.

"Again, I keep talking about Jewish voters in the United States and you keep talking about another ..." Tapper replied only to have Cotton talk over him and insist, "A lot of Jewish voters, just like a lot of Christian voters care deeply about the fate of the Jewish nation and the status of our relationship with Israel."

"Are you comfortable with him [Trump] blaming it on the Jews preemptively?" Tapper pressed.

"The point he is making is at anyone that cares about that relationship shouldn't vote for Kamala Harris they should vote for him and, again, he's been saying things like this, not just at antisemitism events, but speaking to Christians who care about Israel as well, for months," Cotton insisted. "The only reason the Democrats have latched onto it is that a poll..."

"No, no, no," Tapper interrupted. "This is the first time he has ever said, if I lose it will be the fault of Jews," the CNN host corrected him

Trump makes no mention of Robinson during North Carolina rally

Former President Donald Trump made no mention of North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson during his appearance at a rally in Wilmington on Saturday, but the controversy surrounding CNN’s Thursday bombshell report on Robinson continued to dominate political discussions across the state.

Trump instead used the event to decline an offer to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on CNN on October 23 and to deliver a familiar set of rambling and frequently false and outlandish remarks blasting the Biden-Harris administration and promising an almost instant national transformation if he is elected. He said that if he wins in November, the “borders would be instantly secured,” the “price of household goods will plummet,” energy prices will be cut by half in one year, homeless encampments “will be gone,” and “world peace” would prevail. He falsely stated that every job created in the U.S. in recent years had gone to a migrant worker.

'Too weird even for Trump': Conservative buries GOP for not exiling 'perv' Mark Robinson

The North Carolina Republican Party incurred the wrath of conservative columnist Kathleen Parker on Sunday morning for surprisingly continuing to back embattled gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson despite an avalanche of revelations that make him unelectable.

In a scorching column for the Washington Post, Parker referred Robinson's recently uncovered online history where he called himself both a "Black Nazi" and a "perv" on an adult website and wondered what it would take for Republicans to exile him from the party.

Writing that the party has some explaining to do after issuing a statement in support of Robinson, Parker explained, "With so much evidence exposing Robinson as too weird even for Trump, why would North Carolina Republicans pretend everything’s copacetic? Either they’re too proud or too weird themselves, which brings us closer to answering how Robinson got where he is."

Parker went on to add that higher-ups in the GOP are balking at turning on Robinson because he is a Black conservative which is a rarity in the party, to which she added, "Republicans get very excited about their Black candidates, in part because there are so few and because they stand athwart Black history and shout, no! When someone like Robinson rolls into town, Republican operatives can’t believe their good fortune. A Black Trump is more like it."

She then added, "As our politics have become less civil, and rhetoric has devolved to the level of gutter talk, people gradually have become inured to all but the most heinous expressions of hatred, salaciousness and disruption. Robinson’s porn-site commentary may have seized everyone’s attention, but North Carolina didn’t need titillation to find Robinson unfit for office. My hunch is that the state’s Republicans didn’t call Robinson out sooner for his verbal effluvia because, frankly, they knew their base was lapping it up."
