Republican lawmaker proposes putting cameras in school bathrooms to see if kids have guns

The Republican candidate for superintendent of North Carolina has a novel idea to curb school shootings: install cameras to spy on kids as they use the bathroom.

According to WFAE, Michele Morrow, a registered nurse and homeschooling advocate who won the GOP's nomination for education chief in a surprise upset against incumbent Republican Catherine Truitt, proclaimed on X, “My plan to stop people having guns in schools. 1. Controlled entry and exit doors (SRO’s and metal detectors) 2. Video surveillance in classrooms, hallways and bathrooms 3. Immediate expulsion for the remainder of the year for any violations 4. Charge parents if it is their gun.”

'So misleading': CNN's Tapper flips out on deceptive anti-Biden ad that uses his voice

On Thursday afternoon, CNN host Jake Tapper lashed out at a viral 2024 presidential ad that used his voice and those of other cable hosts trashing President Joe Biden after the first presidential debate.

The ad, posted by independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., also uses clips of the cable anchors praising Biden — with Biden's name excised — over video clips of Kennedy, thereby implying they are boosting his long-shot candidacy.

On X, formerly Twitter, Tapper wrote, "This is so misleading and deceptive it should be taken down at once. The quotes are falsely clipped together."

Voices used on the clip, besides Tapper, include his "State of the Union" co-host Dana Bash, CNN evening host Anderson Cooper, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, and Fox News host Harris Faulkner.

Over footage of Kennedy Jr. Cooper is heard stating, "Sources are saying Democrats are starting to rally around who they believe might be their only legitimate chance of beating Donald Trump."

Judge gives approval for Arizona fake elector to head to Republican convention

Politico legal reporter Kyle Cheney posted a new court document showing Arizona fake Trump elector Nancy Cottle has been given a pass by the court to head to Wisconsin for the Republican National Convention.

Cottle is one of many Republicans roped into the fake electors' plot, but she still hasn't made it to trial beyond indictment. Cottle joins state Sen. Anthony Kern and state Sen. Jake Hoffman in heading to meet up with fellow Republicans who also participated as fake electors.
