GOP strategist explains how Biden is 'in a commanding position politically' against Trump

Despite many in the media calling for President Joe Biden to drop from the presidential race in the wake of a poor showing at a debate against Donald Trump, one Republican strategist suggests Biden is actually in a good position to win.

Mike Madrid, who served as the Golden State's GOP political director before co-founding the group of current and former anti-Trump Republicans known as the Lincoln Project, has previously explained what he thinks is "the single most important factor in ensuring Trump's defeat."

'Unlike anything I've ever seen': Expert says 'garbage' in Trump filing warrants sanctions

A former federal prosecutor Saturday highlighted the purported hypocrisies associated with the actions of Judge Aileen Cannon, who is overseeing Donald Trump's criminal Espionage Act case in Florida.

Glenn Kirschner, who frequently appears on MSNBC as a legal analyst, explained that Special Counsel Jack Smith filed a gag order request back in May, but that it still hasn't been answered by Cannon.

American journalist, blogger, and Fox News contributor Charlie Gasparino wrote a column for the New York Post on Saturday titled, "America may soon be subjected to the country’s first DEI president: Kamala Harris."

Here's what swing state voters are saying after Biden's week

Residents of the small handful of states that will decide which candidate wins a majority of Electoral College votes are speaking out about which way they’re leaning after President Joe Biden's rocky post-debate week.

The Wall Street Journal recently interviewed several residents of battleground states like Arizona, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to gauge their voting preferences in the November election, given the wave of scrutiny Biden is facing from both the media and his own party about the 81 year-old's continued viability. These interviews took place after Biden's Friday evening rally in Madison, Wisconsin and his nationally televised interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.

'In shambles': Far-right Freedom Caucus group reportedly losing donations after big loss

The far-right group of lawmakers known as the Freedom Caucus is reportedly on the verge of folding, as its leader just lost a major election and donations are in freefall.

Rep. Bob Good, a Republican and the chairman of the controversial Freedom Caucus group since January, is asking for a recount after losing his primary race in Virginia to a GOP candidate who was supported by Donald Trump. If he does lose after the recount, he would be the first chair to be "voted out in the middle of their term," according to the Washington Times' Saturday report.

'Never seen language like that': Trump lawyer bashed for Biden smear in new court filing

A furious Glenn Kirschner lashed out on MSNBC on Saturday at one of Donald Trump's many lawyers for inflammatory language aimed at President Joe Biden included in a Friday court filing.

The former federal prosecutor was speaking with ex-prosecutor Katie Phang on her MSNBC show and immediately pounced on a filing submitted by the Trump legal team to Judge Aileen Cannon after the former president debated Biden.

Jumping right into it, he exclaimed, "You know, Katie, so much to dislike both in form and in substance about this one."

"I think what I want to start with is just two short lines from the motion that Donald Trump's lawyer filed yesterday," he continued by emphasizing "Yesterday," and then promised, "We will talk about just how quickly Judge Cannon acted when her actions were going to be to the benefit of Donald Trump."

Returning to his initial topic of concern, he stated, "Here is what they say at the opening paragraphs of yesterday's court filing. Quote, 'President Biden's exceedingly weak debate performance on June 27th.' Quote, 'President Biden's failing attempt to communicate with the voters."

"Katie, I was a federal prosecutor for 30 years and I have never seen language like that in a court filing from a defense attorney or prosecutor," he exclaimed. "Any self-respecting judge would consider ordering it stricken from the motion and then issuing a show-cause order, directing the attorney who authored it to show cause why they shouldn't be sanctioned for turning a court filing into a campaign ad."

MSNBC host admits the media is going overboard on Biden while ignoring Trump

At the conclusion of a segment detailing President Joe Biden's struggles to convince voters he's up to the task of serving a second term, MSNBC host Katie Phang was put on the spot by an anti-Donald Trump Republican for the media's conduct since the presidential debate which took place over a week ago.

As Phang attempted to wrap up the segment, GOP strategist Susan Del Percio excitedly interrupted her to complain about the overall conduct of reporters who are still beating the story to death.

"I just wish the Democrats would stop talking about it.," Del Percio argued. "[Former House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saying, was this a condition or is it an episode? That leads the media to follow. Sorry, it just is!"

'Week from hell': Trump shared QAnon, lobbed 'treason' accusations as media dogged Biden

While the beltway media spent the last week haranguing President Joe Biden over his lackluster performance in the CNN presidential debate, former President Donald Trump largely got a pass despite several days of shenanigans that Rolling Stone described as a "week from hell."

In a Friday article, Rolling Stone reporters Tom Dickinson and Asawin Suebsaeng summed up how the former president exhibited increasingly unhinged behavior while the press scrutinized Biden's debate mistakes. On his Truth Social platform, Trump posted a meme of him and his wife, Melania, with the text "Where We Go One We Go All" – the slogan of the far-right cult QAnon. The graphic also featured the letter Q, in another nod to the conspiracy theorist movement that Trump is secretly battling a cabal of wealthy elite pedophiles and will one day bring them to justice (also known as "the storm").

'That changes the game': Trump insiders raise risks of having to face Kamala Harris

Hedging their bet that President Joe Biden will stay in the 2024 presidential race despite questions about his age, members of Donald Trump's inner circle are hard at work preparing an offensive aimed at undermining Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to a report from the Washington Post, former president Trump is already leaning into Harris attacks, recently labeling her "Laffin' Kamala," and there will be more to come if Biden decides to step aside and the Democratic Party coalesces behind the VP.

As the Post's Isaac Arnsdorf, Josh Dawsey and Marianne LeVine combined to write, senior Trump adviser Jason Miller, recently told reporters, "I think the bottom falls out for Democrats with blue-collar, working-class people in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan with Kamala Harris."

However, not everyone is on board, with some noting that the Trump campaign's main attacks on Biden — his health and his age — disappear with him if he steps off the stage and Trump becomes the elderly candidate with cognitive issues.

'Some advisers and allies acknowledged that Harris, 59, could change the race as a more vigorous campaigner with the potential to energize young voters and women. And they said her opportunity to choose a new running mate could further alter the dynamics of the matchup, especially if she adds a Midwestern governor such as Josh Shapiro (D-Pa.) or Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) to the ticket," the Post is reporting.

Add to that, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) admitted the election dynamic would be radically altered and agreed with the Post's assessment.

“The policy debate doesn’t change, the capabilities of the candidate changes — all the problems associated with a declining Biden physically and mentally go away," he observed. “If she picks a governor from Pennsylvania or Michigan that changes the game.”

Former DNC chair Donna Brazile suggested Harris presents another issue for Trump and his advisors where he could further alienate female voters.

"They have been throwing paint, rocks, mud and just about every other metaphor I could come up with since the day she was inaugurated … I feel like saying where have you been? This is no time for their team to start attacking any woman,” she suggested.

GOP Sen. Mike Lee facing furious backlash after spreading 'malicious lies' about Biden

On Friday, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) amplified a baseless, debunked claim that President Joe Biden was experiencing a medical episode on board Air Force One. Now, the senator is getting roasted for his tweet by both journalists and commentators.

At 7:41 PM Eastern Time yesterday, far-right activist Laura Loomer tweeted: "Joe Biden is reportedly having a medical emergency on Air Force One right now" and that "press access has been removed." However, this was quickly debunked by X/Twitter's Community Notes function, which read that Biden "did NOT have a medical emergency on Air Force One following the Wisconsin rally and was perfectly fine throughout...and exited on his own after touching down in Delaware."

Ex-FBI official paints terrifying scenario if Trump regains control of the agency

Reacting to the Supreme Court's presidential ruling that will hand Donald Trump unfettered power to do as pleases under the cover of presidential immunity should he be re-elected, a former FBI official warned the agency could become an agent of terror under the revenge-minded ex-president.

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday, former assistant director for counterintelligence at the FBI, Frank Figliuzzi was candid about the agency's history of trampling on Americans' civil rights and claimed it would pale in comparison to what Trump would order it to do.

"I think we have to look at the intelligence community and federal law enforcement and here is why," the ex-FBI agent began. "[Supreme Court Justice] Samuel Alito has responded to the dissenters in this position and saying, 'Oh come on, you guys are bringing up extreme hypotheticals,' is what he called them as if we will have a good man in place who will always do the right thing despite having the presumption of immunity."

"Well, guess what" he continued. "It is not extreme because all we have to do is look back in history to the early and mid-1970s when the American people began to find out that their FBI and their DOJ and their CIA were spying unlawfully without court authorization on American people. And who were those American people? Anybody J. Edgar Hoover and the administration felt was a threat."

Continuing in that vein he added, "This is what happens when the executive branch literally has no rules they need to follow and, I am telling you, we will see it again because Trump has said he will seek revenge on those he deems a threat."
