'There is a trend here': Experts celebrate as French left wing appears to beat far right

France's left-wing New Popular Front is expected to finish ahead of the nation's far-right party in French parliamentary elections, and it's causing some excitement in the United States.

CNN reported Sunday that left-wing group "was projected to win between 172 and 192 seats in the National Assembly, making it the largest party, but falling short of the 289 seats required to form an absolute majority." This would mean a finish even in front of President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist Ensemble alliance. Marine Le Pen’s far-right party was reportedly leading in initial estimates, so the change was a surprise to some onlookers.

'He lied once every 90 seconds': Dem flips script on Fox News host over Trump's debate

Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) said Sunday that Republicans should be having discussions about whether Donald Trump should step aside instead of focusing on President Joe Biden's debate performance.

In an interview on Fox News, host Mike Emanuel asked Auchincloss if Biden's recent interview with ABC News had "moved the needle" on the possibility of him leaving the Democratic presidential ticket.

'I have to hit pause here': J.D. Vance flips out on NBC's Welker as she fact-checks him

In just the first half of Sen. J.D. Vance's interview with "Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker, the Ohio Republican waved his hands and snapped at her as she attempted to fact-check him.

During Vance's second outburst, the NBC host resorted to telling him, "I have to hit pause here."

What first set off the Ohio lawmaker, who is reportedly a finalist to be Donald Trump's running mate, was Welker pushing back at his claim that President Joe Biden is siccing the Department of Justice on the embattled Trump.

"The prosecution of Donald Trump in New York, which I think now has fundamentally been thrown in doubt by this immunity case, it was one of the main guys was a Department of Justice official of the Biden administration who jumped ship to join a local prosecutor's office to go after Donald Trump," Vance stated which led her to interrupt, "And yet the DOJ told Congress.." as he rambled, "...the legitimacy of the prosecution. That's a problem."

"Senator, that happens all of the time, people are appointed from Washington. The DOJ told Congress—, she instructed him just before he shouted over her.

"Are you really saying, Kristen, it happens all the time! That the number --," Vance exclaimed with Welker cutting him off and explaining, "Let me just finish this. It [Congress] reviewed all communications since Biden took office and found no contact between federal prosecutors and those involved with that case in New York. Can you stick to the substance of the question, though?"

In the second skirmish, Vance claimed the Biden administration wants to fund abortions up to birth, calling it "crazy," which led Welker to once again talk over him after putting him on "pause" and then explaining, "As you know abortions, very few abortions, take place later in pregnancy almost always because there is a medical emergency."

'That's crazy, Scott': GOP strategist read the riot act on CNN over Trump's history

Republican party strategist Scott Jennings got a brutal dressing down from Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) on CNN Sunday morning and had no answers when she listed off Donald Trump's egregious conduct and his plans to become a dictator.

During the panel segment of CNN's "State of the Union," the question about President Joe Biden's political future after a terrible debate performance almost two weeks ago was made front and center when Dingle complained that Donald Trump's recent history is being ignored — and then Jennings made light of it.

Reacting to Biden's poor performance, Jennings smirked and stated, "It's only the commander in chief we are talking about. He's not just a candidate."

"Which is why we should be talking about Donald Trump and all the things he's done," Dingell shot back as Jennings tried to talk over her.

"How he wants to be a dictator!" Dingell said of the former president. "How he thinks [overturning] Roe v Wade is the greatest thing he ever did. And how he wants to give your billionaire friends a tax cut and he thinks Jan. 6 was a great thing."

"You give me too much credit, I wish I had some billionaire friends," Jennings retorted without addressing Trump's issues.

The GOP strategist then continued, "You got colleagues, public, and private, who want Joe Biden to step down. You've got a lot of colleagues in your conference who want him to get out of the way and what they're really saying is we don't have confidence in him to lead for the next four years which really means they don't have confidence in him to lead today."

"This is not a campaign problem, this is a White House problem. There are real questions about whether he's acting independently," he added. "He said, by the way, in his interview with [George] Stephanopoulos the other night, he wanted to do three things: restore decency and now he's got Hunter Biden running the White House senior staff meetings and he said he wanted to do something for the middle-class..."

"Hunter Biden's not running the White House, come on," interjected CNN host Dana Bash.

Democratic strategist Doug Thornell also jumped in with, "That's crazy, Scott."

"I'm sorry, I'm just reading the journalism, I'm pro-journalist here," Jennings attempted.

'Ideological lunacy': CNN's Bash puts scrambling Marco Rubio on the spot over Project 2025

Confronted on CNN by chilling comments made by the architect behind the authoritarian Project 2025 hinting at bloodshed if Donald Trump is not re-elected, the best Sen. Marco Rubio could come up with was, "Think tanks do think tanks stuff."

The Florida Republican was put on the spot on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday when host Dana Bash played a clip of Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts telling a Real America News host, "We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless ― if the left allows it to be."

With Project 2025 stocked with multiple former Donald Trump aides, Bash pressed Rubio, who is in the running to be Trump's running mate, with, "Are you comfortable with that?"

"Well, he's not running for president is he?' Rubio attempted "I mean our candidate is Donald Trump. I didn't hear Donald Trump say that. Donald Trump's running on common sense, on restoring common sense versus the lunacy of the last four years and the far left and the shadow government that now is running our country. "

"Think tanks do think tank stuff, they come up with ideas, they say things," he continued. "Look, I like Heritage Foundation. I agree with some of the things they stand for, but there's a bunch of scholars and people to turn around and work on different projects, but our candidate for president is Donald Trump and Donald Trump is running on restoring common sense, working-class values and making decisions on the basis of that, not an ideological lunacy, which is what we've seen over the last four years."

"Is that what Project 2025 is? An ideological lunacy?" Bash retorted.

"No, I think it's the work of a think tank of center-right think tank and that's what think tanks do," Rubio demurred.

Trump-aligned GOP senator suggests far-right masked hate group is a 'false flag operation'

U.S. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), an ally to Donald Trump, is the latest Republican to disavow the Patriot Front, an often-masked organization that has been labeled a right-wing and white supremacist hate group.

Lee took to social media on Saturday to question the legitimacy of the conservative marchers. The senator earlier in the day was taking heat for falling for a hoax about President Joe Biden having some kind of a "medical emergency" while on Air Force One on Friday.
