Ex-GOP strategist shatters MAGA's conspiracy theory to pre-excuse Trump debate loss

With the CNN debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump set to take place tonight, the former president and his allies are pre-emptively raging that the debate is unfair in case Biden outperforms the low expectations they've set with months of declaring him mentally infirm — and one of their biggest claims is that Biden is somehow being pumped full of drugs to improve his debate performance.

But no such drug actually exists, pointed out former GOP consultant Stuart Stevens on X.

Anti-MAGA Milwaukee shop hit with Trump graffiti after trolling with Jan. 6 billboard

A Milwaukee spice shop was hit with Trump graffiti after the company — America’s largest independent spice retailer — said it trolled the former president with a downtown billboard that referenced the Capitol riots using the famous Guy Fawkes' "Remember, Remember" nursery rhyme.

Earlier this month, Penzeys Spices erected a billboard welcoming Donald Trump to the city with the phrase: "Remember, Remember January 6th This November!" The phrase appears to take inspiration from the British phrase, "Remember, Remember, the 5th of November, Gunpowder, Treason and Plot!"

'You aren't cool': Experts react to judge in Trump probes quoting Taylor Swift in opinion

A federal judge, who has been involved in former President Donald Trump's Jan. 6 Capitol election insurrection criminal case — took some creative license in his decision to nix a federal approval for Indiana's Medicaid expansion plan.

Chief Judge James "Jeb" Boasberg paraphrased pop phenom Taylor Swift's track "Exile" in the middle of his formal 66-page ruling.

'Negligent': Ron DeSantis slammed for vetoing bill to warn beachgoers of pollution

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is under fire for vetoing a bipartisan bill that would have alerted beachgoers in his state when there are dangerous water quality issues, the Tampa Bay Times reported on Thursday.

"The bill required the Florida Department of Health to issue health advisories if water quality failed to meet the agency’s standards and required closing polluted beaches 'if it is deemed necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public,' according to a House staff analysis of the bill," reported Max Chesnes. "The measure also required municipalities and counties to notify the state health department of unsafe water quality within 24 hours and required counties to post signs warning of unsafe waters, according to the bill."

Trump welcomed to Atlanta by billboards flagging first visit since being 'convicted felon'

Former President Donald Trump arrived in Atlanta around 6 p.m. Thursday, and as he heads to the debate stage, the now-convicted felon will be greeted by some not-so-nice billboards.

Internet piles on GOP lawmaker who proclaimed Trump a 'harbinger of Black excellence'

Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) took to Fox Business ahead of the CNN debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, to proclaim that the former president is a great force for good in the Black community.

"President Trump is a harbinger of Black excellence," Hunt, who is Black, told host Larry Kudlow. He went on to tout his recent gathering with voters at a barbershop in Atlanta alongside his fellow guest, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), where Trump's mugshot from the Fulton County criminal case was on display; some of Trump's allies have bizarrely claimed that criminal charges could make Trump more relatable to Black people.

'He's crazier now': Debate could blow up Fox's effort to hide 'unhinged' Trump from voters

One major difference between the 2020 election and now is that the Fox networks isn't giving Donald Trump the time on its airwaves that it once did.

For years, Fox showed every moment of Trump rallies, but in the 2024 election, the network stopped.

'Ignorant' Lauren Boebert scorched online for 'deeply stupid analogy' about debate

MAGA Republican and accused carpetbagger Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert on Thursday asked the tough question everyone wants to know — why should the commander-in-chief be able to refuse a debate drug-test when U.S. troops cannot?

Boebert's question echoes a familiar right-wing talking point that's made the rounds in recent days in what appears to be an effort to pre-shield former President Donald Trump ahead of the debate Thursday night on CNN.

'Picky child': Supreme Court justice sneers at dissenting colleagues who warn of 'chaos'

Hidden in the lengthy and complex Supreme Court opinions released Thursday was a none-too-subtle jab at liberal colleagues who dissented and warned their conservative colleagues were unleashing "chaos" on Congress.

Justice Neil Gorsuch, one of three justices appointed by former President Donald Trump, compared justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagen and Ketanji Brown Jackson to disobedient youths in his concurring opinion in the Securities Exchange Commission v. Jarkesy ruling.

Judge Cannon insists she's not 'resource-wasting' by granting Trump another hearing

U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon denied former President Donald Trump's claim that omissions in a warrant to search Mar-a-Lago would have nullified the "probable cause" standard. However, she also said she would hold yet another hearing on Trump's attempt to prevent special counsel Jack Smith from piercing attorney-client privilege.

In an 11-page order on Thursday, Cannon addressed a motion for a so-called Franks hearing to challenge the Mar-a-Lago warrant. The judge was not impressed with Trump's complaint that the opinions of some FBI officials were omitted in the warrant application.
