Fox News hosts Rachel Campos-Duffy and Lisa Boothe defended Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump after he did not kiss his wife, Melania, on the lips at the Republican National Convention (RNC) last week.

Following Trump's speech at the RNC, Trump's wife walked out on stage, where the two shared an air kiss.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) claimed without evidence that the man who allegedly shot former President Donald Trump was "obviously working with someone."

During a Sunday interview on Fox News, Luna said she planned to press Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle about the background details of Thomas Crooks, the alleged gunman.

Reflecting on Donald Trump's speech at the recently concluded Republican National Convention and his rally appearance in Michigan on Saturday night, a conservative strategist asserted on MSNBC on Sunday morning that it appears we will be seeing a more "disciplined" and less "unhinged" ex-president on the campaign trail going forward.

Speaking with the hosts of MSNBC's "The Weekend," Brendan Buck conceded Trump will still say "weird things," but added it's possible Trump's people have finally reined him in.

That led Democratic pollster Fernand Amandi to laugh and suggest the former president "can't help himself" and that Trump will be his usual self.

"I frankly am still a little stuck on the questions Brandon was asked earlier: can Donald Trump not be unhinged? Can Donald Trump be disciplined going forward? Hello? Have we been watching Donald Trump for the last 10 years — are you kidding me?" Amandi laughed. "In that clip, that unfortunately we have to watch, which is actually a little bit fortunate just his convention speech was fortunate."

"Why?" he asked. "Because Donald Trump can't help himself. Donald Trump in every single remark every time he has an opportunity to go before voters at the cameras he gives the game away."

"You see the projection there, where he accuses Democrats of being fascists, Democrats of being the enemies of democracy, when what he is saying there is 'I am suffering from that charge, it is a problem and in my week, feeble, undisciplined, unhinged attempt, which is what he is and who he is, he will try it weekly say no, it is not me."

Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy said one of her daughters was facing fears of a right-wing plan called Project 2025.

During a Fox & Friends Weekend discussion, host Pete Hegseth noted that Trump had disavowed the plan created by dozens of former Trump advisers and officials at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Appearing on MSNBC's "The Katie Phang Show," former GOP campaign consultant Tara Setmayer claimed the choice of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) should come as no surprise due to his attitude toward women's rights.

Speaking with the host, Setmayer pinned the label "mega MAGA misogynist" before documenting the Ohio Republican's history and what could happen if the Trump team wins in November.

According to both the host and Setmayer, the GOP convention was a decidedly anti-woman affair.

Pointing to the choice of Vance as a running mate, Setmayer stated, "This is the direction they are going in."

Taking to both TikTok and Instagram, Donald Trump's niece, psychologist Mary Trump, took some shots at MSNBC host Katy Tur for her commentary during the recently concluded Republican National Convention where she told viewers that she felt the former president appeared to be humbled after an assassination attempt one week ago.

Tur, a frequent target on social media for what is considered to be her glossing over Trump's copious issues, this week told viewers she was seeing a Trump she had never seen before, telling co-host Chris Jansing, that the former president looked "serene" at the convention.

The Republican National Convention's conclusion with former President Donald Trump taking the stage to a crowd of adoring fans wearing bandages on their ears in solidarity was a little too much for comedian Bill Maher.

In summarizing the HBO host's weekly "new rules" segment, the Daily Beast described Maher as "sick of the latest wave of religious fervor around the ex-president. Maher noted that while he was personally grateful the shooter at Trump's Pennsylvania rally last week didn't hit his target, the assassination attempt nonetheless brought out "an orgy of magical thinking."
