Newly appointed “Special Envoy for the Shield of Americas” Kristi Noem made her debut in Florida Saturday morning to witness Donald Trump promote his new “Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere,” but was not invited to the lectern to speak to the assembled South American dignitaries despite her lofty status.

That led to MS NOW’s Ali Velshi to smirk at her exclusion because Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were invited to stand with the president, as well as speak, during the ceremonies, while Noem sat in the audience.

With Texas Republicans facing the prospect of a bruising battle between Sen. John Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the nomination for the seat Cornyn now holds, longtime political advisor Mark McKinnon said the GOP in Texas may have a bigger problem.

Appearing on MS NOW’s “The Weekend,” McKinnon noted that he has been historically skeptical about enthusiasm for rising political stars, but Democratic nominee James Talarico seems to have tapped into something and voter turnout this past week should make the GOP leadership sit up and notice.

Asked about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s standing with Congress to date, a Democratic lawmaker told the co-hosts of MS NOW’s “The Weekend” that there is a growing movement to see him gone.

Retired United States Army Lieutenant General Mark Hertling did not give MS NOW host Jackie Alemany much of a chance to ask about comments made by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about Russian involvement in the Iran war on Saturday morning.

Instead, he jumped the gun, talked over her, and hammered Hegseth, whom he dismissively referred to as a “former Fox host” earlier.

Robert Garcia (D-CA) had nothing but scorn for the Justice Department on MS NOW's "The Weeknight" on Friday, after they finally were pressured into releasing the FBI interviews of a woman who claimed, albeit with no evidence, that President Donald Trump sexually abused her when she was a teenager.

"Congressman, it's good to have you back with us," said anchor Michael Steele. "Two-part question for you. The first part: Are you really buying the line that's coming out that, 'Oh, I'm sorry, this was a review error'. An agitated President Donald Trump lashed out at two reporters during his White House “Saving College Sports” roundtable, complaining that the journalists failed to stay on topic.

The roundtable was focused on the future of college athletics, especially NIL, athlete compensation, and possible federal legislation. As Trump took questions, he seethed at reporters who failed to ask him about his plans.

Fox News contributor Dagen McDowell attempted to spin higher gas prices caused by President Donald Trump's strikes on Iran by noting that Americans weren't yet experiencing "food rationing" as they did in World War II.

"According to AAA, the national average hit $3.22 today," Fox News host Martha MacCallum told McDowell on Friday. "That's a 30-cent increase since the strikes in the Middle East began."
