Lindsey Graham flips out on NBC host as she confronts him over Trump's embrace of Orbán

What started out as a congenial, interview with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) went off the rails after "Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker pressed the GOP lawmaker about Donald Trump's embrace of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at Mar-a-Lago this week.

When Welker tried to fact-check Graham on Orbán's authoritarian history, the senator raised his voice and talked over her.

After sharing a clip of Trump praising the Hungarian strongman, Welker asked, "Do you think Viktor Orbán's leadership is something Trump aspires to in a second term?"

"I think the best way to judge President Trump's second term is by what he did in his first term," Graham shot back.

With Graham later asserting, "Russia didn't invade on President Trump's watch. Hamas didn't try to destroy Israel on his watch. The Taliban weren't in charge on his watch. So, here's what I would say, if you're worried about the world being on fire you're right. If you think [President Biden] is weak in the eyes of our enemies you're right. So, if you want to get the world back in order, you better vote for Trump."

"But you know that former President Trump has talked about being a dictator on day one. He said it's nice to have a strong man running our country. He's talked about retribution in a second term, senator," Welker replied.

Turning back to Orbán. Welker stated, "Senator, just to be very clear, though. He is aligning himself with Viktor Orbán. He is--."

"Who is a member of NATO who just voted to let Sweden in," Graham interrupted to which the NBC host replied, "Reluctantly, though. But he has--."

"Orbán is not on the ballot!" the GOP lawmaker exclaimed.

As Welker attempted to reply, Graham continued to talk over her repeating, "Orbán is not on the ballot. You've got to vote between Trump and Biden! Biden has screwed the world up every way you can: broken borders, the world's on fire. If he really is back, if he's with it, if he's energetic, get in a room with Donald Trump and debate. Take questions from people like yourself, rather than reading a teleprompter. If there's ever an election in the history of America that deserves debate between the two candidates, it's this election. Trump just told me, the campaign just told me, 'Anytime, anywhere. Let's debate.'"

Watch: CNN supercut shows GOP lawmakers fleeing when asked if they'll endorse Trump

On Sunday morning CNN "Inside Politics" host Manu Raju shared a supercut of GOP lawmakers either fleeing him or giving vague answers when asked if they will endorse Donald Trump's third bid for the presidency.

While discussing Trump's dominance of the Republican Party, Raju noted the former president has yet to lock down everyone's support for his latest run.

"So I mentioned Republicans who are embracing Trump," he began, "but there are a fair amount in the House and Senate who are not there yet. I asked just a lot of Republicans about the fact that Trump, on Super Tuesday, he became the presumptive nominee, he's on the way to the nomination. So what? Are they going to get behind him? Some of them just wouldn't answer."

The clip started with Rep. Tom Kean (R-NJ) who refused to stop as Raju called out "Mr. Kean. Mr. Kean"

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) did stop to chat but would only say, "At the end of the day this is about the American people. They will determine who the next president of the United States is. Not me not anybody in this house or chamber."

Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) answered a question about endorsing Trump while walking away only saying, "What I will tell you is that we can't afford four more years by the administration."

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) was then seen ducking into an elevator while offering up, "I've answered that question before."

Trump's E. Jean Carroll bond in danger after he hands her lawyers new ammo: expert

At a rally in Georgia on Saturday night, Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on writer E. Jean Carroll that may hand the New York writer's lawyers reason to file a new lawsuit against him as well as kill the $92 million appeals bond he just posted on Friday.

Appearing with the hosts on MSNBC's "The Weekend," legal analyst Lisa Rubin was stunned at the former president creating new problems for himself after the judge in the two trials gave Carroll's attorneys the option of opposing the bond.

"You would think at this point, Lisa Rubin, we would no longer be surprised by his lack of discipline. But the thing we kept coming back to when this sum was ordered, is this number big enough to make him stop? We now have an answer," co-host Alicia Menedez prompted the analyst.

"You're right we do have an answer," Rubin replied. "It was enough to make him stop until he was past a point that the judge could no longer order more, have any further consequences for it. I mean, I'm struck by the fact, Alicia, he said these things the night after he posted a bond, filed his notice of appeal the judge has long past finalized."

"Should E. Jean Carroll and her team want any further relief now their only option is to file another case," she added. "The punitive damage was as great as it was because Donald Trump kept saying it after the initial judgment. The argument they made was that he was not deterred by the first award, and in fact, continued to say it again and again and again."

Asked "What is E. Jean Carroll's recourse now?" she replied, "You know, I wish I could get into their heads right now. I think her recourse here is to sue again or at the very least to oppose the bond, which is an option that Judge [Lewis] Kaplan gave them. Judge Kaplan said if they want to oppose the bond in any respect, they have until Monday. That's tomorrow, at 11:00. If they do oppose it, it will be in Manhattan federal court."

'Dishonest' Katie Britt's Biden lie dismantled by CNN panel

On Sunday morning the panel on CNN' "Inside Politics" pounced on Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) for her smear of President Joe Biden by linking him to a victim of sex trafficking which occurred 20 years before he became president.

With Britt's spokesperson finally coming clean, CNN host Manu Raju shared a clip of Britt's overwrought storytelling before telling his panel, "... the incident did not happen during the Biden administration or even in the United States, but actually in Mexico."

"So this was supposed to be a shining moment for Britt, someone who is being elevated in the Republican ranks given this huge opportunity," he continued. "She's faced enormous criticism for her delivery, but now this passage was not true the way she presented it. What's the fallout?"

"I mean, the story itself that she told is not inaccurate," correspondent Melanie Zanona contributed. "What's dishonest is the way she tried to link into the Biden administration, the way she tried to link it to something that was happening in the United States."

"And it was just such an unforced error for her in addition to picking the kitchen table as the setting, in addition to the delivery which was widely criticized and mocked, "she continued. "And this is just the risk of doing the rebuttal. These are notoriously tricky. You're going from watching the president in this room with hundreds of people — there's a lot of energy to watching someone deliver a straight to camera alone in a room and we've seen how this has tripped up past politicians including rising stars."

"It looked like it's happened to her as well," she added. "I mean, I would say I don't think this means her end is here because in the future of the Republican party, she still has a very long career ahead of her, but it's embarrassing."
