Nancy Mace faces backlash over Trump support: 'You're a victim... supporting a victimizer'
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) faced backlash on Sunday after she attacked ABC News host George Stephanopoulos because he asked about her support for Donald Trump.
On ABC's This Week, Stephanopoulos asked Mace, a rape survivor, how she could support a man who a judge found to be a rapist. Mace accused the journalist of trying to shame her.
Later, she attacked Stephanopoulos on X (formerly Twitter).
"I was asked to speak on 2024 today, NOT my own rape. I've carried this shame for 30 years, a shame George Stephanopolous [sic] will never know," she wrote. "I don't need @gstephanopolous "mansplaining" rape to me or shaming me on national TV for being a survivor of rape."

Commenters reacted by disagreeing with Mace.
"Ain't about you," one person explained. "It's Trump the sexual predator you're okay with."
"Okay lady we get— you are supporting a guy who was found liable of sexual battery because he lowers taxes for billionaires and you want to be his VP," another wrote. "That's all you gotta say."
One person accused Mace of "obfuscation."
"You should be ashamed, not for surviving a rape, but for supporting a rapist. No one is buying your obfuscation," the user said.
"You're a victim, and you are supporting a victimizer. It doesn't make sense," one person observed.
