'Stupid Republicans!' Trump blasts own party as Oval Office meeting derails

President Donald Trump blasted his own party Wednesday as supporters continue to demand documents from the investigation into alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump opened his day with two long posts on Truth Social attacking the Epstein client list conspiracy as a "hoax" and calling those who believe a document exists that damns powerful people through association with the pedophile "weaklings."

MSNBC panel fights to suppress laughter during Lauren Boebert interview clip

As part of the unrelenting coverage of the Jeffrey Epstein files firestorm that is consuming Donald Trump and the Department of Justice, MSNBC's Anna Cabrera shared a clip of Rep, Lauren Boebert (R-CO) attempting to be helpful.

That, in turn, led to smirks and barely suppressed laughter from her panel.

On Tuesday, the Colorado Republican told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson, "Of course we want answers. No one is satisfied with what has been received or lack thereof. No one is satisfied with the rollout of this," before adding, "That has got to happen. There has to be a special investigation into this if we aren’t going to be provided information. This is certainly important and I want answers, and maybe that takes that special counsel to do so. Maybe Matt Gaetz can lead the special counsel.”

After watching the clip, former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade began laughing, MSNBC reporter Julie Tsirkin smirked and looked away and host Cabrera busted out a grin.

"Hmm, " Cabrera laughed. "Is there any real support for Boebert's idea there on Capitol Hill?"

"Well, certainly among people like Boebert, deep in the MAGA space that support continuing to investigate this issue," Tsirkin replied. "I will tell you, though, that even somebody as senior like Jim Jordan, who, of course, chairs a very important committee here, the Judiciary Panel, he is not interested at all in going down this road. He was pressed several times about it yesterday, and he continued to say that he stands with the president and he stands behind what his administration is doing here."

'Bro': Strategist gets super familiar as he tries to help 'out of control' Trump

A Republican strategist offered some unsolicited "bro" advice to President Donald Trump as the Jeffrey Epstein scandal dragged into its second week.

The president has been trying to tamp down a MAGA rebellion since the Department of Justice dropped a statement that disputed right-wing conspiracy theories about the disgraced financier's death and his alleged "client list," and Republican strategist Melik Abdul told "CNN News Central" that Trump keeps fielding questions about the case because he filled his administration with Epstein conspiracy theorists.

'We're going to remind everybody what you did to them': Stefanik put on notice

With the Republican-dominated Congress about to send President Donald Trump a budget bill for his signature that will severely impact people living in rural communities, combined with Trump tariffs that are already hitting consumers in their pocketbooks, GOP lawmakers are nervously eying the 2026 midterms.

And according to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) may have a re-election problem of her own to worry about.

During an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe,' Hochul noted that Stefanik — a dyed-in-the-wool Trump backer — represents an upstate New York district that will not only be hurt by revenue cuts in the budget bill, but is already reeling from the president's economic war with neighboring Canada.

"So, governor, you mentioned President Trump's tariff policy, let's also turn to the so-called one big beautiful bill now law of the land, and talk to us about the way the budget cuts, you know, are going to impact New York state, particularly," host Jonathn Lemire prompted his guest before asking noting, "There are a lot of rural areas, and i know there's real concern about both Medicaid and rural health care."

'Absolutely, " she agreed. "I was just up in Elise Stefanik's district in the north country, which is getting hammered. First of all, the tariffs, because the Canadians are not coming over, they're not spending money in the hotels and restaurants, the tourism economy is suffering."

"Then you have the farm community, the farmers, Republican farmers don't know why their own elected officials voted against their interests with higher costs because of tariff closing out markets to them that they had always counted on the cost of even steel, or the shavings that go in the stalls for their cows is more expensive because they got it from Canada," she elaborated. "So you have all that, but then to tell them that you are at risk of losing five of your rural hospitals in this one congressional district? That is real."

"I had a forum up there," she told the hosts. "I had 400 people, standing room only, farmers, people in tourism, the small businesses, people in health care, hospitals. They're in a panic."

"And this is what I want to point out: all across the state, seven members of the Republican Party elected in this state voted against the interests of their own constituents. How do you do that and think you're going to get away with it?" she asked. "Oh, you'll push back the pain till 2027? Guess what? We're going to remind everybody what you did to them and it's going to have an effect on your 2026 election."

'Figure it out!' Ex-Trump aide urges White House to make Bondi Epstein fall guy

A former aide to President Donald Trump urged him to dump the Jeffrey Epstein scandal into Attorney General Pam Bondi's lap and position her as a possible scapegoat.

'It's farcical!' Ex-FBI agent blows up outlandish Trump claim using basic facts

President Donald Trump has claimed the Jeffrey Epstein files were "made up" by his political enemies — but a former FBI official is debunking his timeline as impossible.

The president was asked whether Attorney General Pam Bondi had told him if his name was cited in the case files, and he said no, but then Trump went on to say the documents had been fabricated by Barack Obama, James Comey and Joe Biden's administration. CNN's John Berman asked former FBI special agent Mike Feinberg to unpack those claims.

'Massive anxiety': Strategist sees Republicans start to panic over Trump demands

Senate Republicans barely scraped together enough votes to move a plan forward to claw back billions in already-approved funding for foreign aid and public broadcasting, and political analysts say that's a sign of just how unpopular the measure is with voters.

Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-breaking vote Tuesday to advance the rescissions package to the Senate floor, setting up another possible marathon voting session Wednesday, and Democratic strategist Maria Cardona told "CNN This Morning" the clawback demanded by President Donald Trump was politically toxic.

Trump 'clearly flailing' as Epstein crisis refuses to go away: MSNBC

Based upon a press availability on Tuesday where Donald Trump expressed dismay at more questions about his administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, The Atlantic contributor Jonathan Lemire suggested the president has a legitimate crisis on his hands.

From his perch as a co-host on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," the longtime Capitol Hill reporter raised an eyebrow at Trump's inability to control members of his own party who want the files related to the accused pedophile released.

Noting a memo from the Department of Justice that claimed there was nothing in the files worth releasing to the public that created the MAGA firestorm that continues to grow, columnist David French told the panel, "This is a wild moment. I knew it would be a problem when I saw that memo. I knew it would be a problem for him. I did not see how much of a problem it would be, and how hard it would be for him to tamp it down."

"Very fascinating, frankly, to watch Donald Trump, the president of the United States grapple with this, a guy who was an acquaintance of Jeffrey Epstein, who once called him a terrific guy, who acknowledged, jokingly, his affinity for very young women," offered co-host Willie Geist. "Trump talking about Jeffrey Epstein frankly just looks uncomfortable when we see him there yesterday talking about this."

"And clearly flailing," Lemire interjected. "I mean, yesterday on the tarmac there at Joint Base Andrews, talking about how boring the story is, he wouldn't understand why anyone would talk about it. Mind you, it was just two days prior that, as David mentioned, Donald Trump's defense was that it was a conspiracy created by Barack Obama."

"I don't take that at face value," he added. "That's not boring if you're saying the former president of United States created this, and it just shows that they have not landed on a good defense, as you noted."
