'American Heroes Week' was the most batsh*t insane of Trump's presidency -- here were the craziest moments

The Trump White House declared the past week "American Heroes Week" -- although the administration spent most of the week scrambling around to clean up multiple self-inflicted disasters.

Although most weeks in the Trump presidency are jam-packed with insanity, the past week set a new standard, as it featured a toxic mix of failed legislative initiatives, unhinged public feuds between key administration officials, and even a wildly inappropriate speech delivered to the Boy Scouts Jamboree.

Below, we'll recap all the most batsh*t insane moments of "American Heroes Week."

Monday. Trump delivered a speech to the Boy Scouts Jamboree in which he once again bragged about his election victory, got thousands of Boy Scouts to boo former President Barack Obama, and made allusions to a yacht orgy.

The speech drew a massive backlash from many former Boy Scouts and current parents of Boy Scouts who felt that such rhetoric had no place at the annual Jamboree, and it forced the Boy Scouts of America to issue a formal apology later in the week.

Tuesday. Trump attacked Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Twitter and accuses him of having a "VERY weak" record on investigating former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. Trump also told the Wall Street Journal that Sessions only endorsed him during the 2016 presidential campaign because he was attracted to Trump's large crowds.

Reports emerged that Sessions was "pissed off" at Trump, but he wouldn't resign because he didn't want to give Trump the satisfaction of quitting.

Wednesday. Trump announces via Twitter that he does not support allowing transgender people to serve in the military "in any capacity." Trump did not give anyone at the Pentagon a heads up about this decision, however, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that she didn't know if Trump's new policy meant that all current transgender service members would have to immediately step down from their posts.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff later in the week instructed the military to make no changes to their transgender policies until they received more specific guidance from the White House.

Thursday. New White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci started off his day by delivering a rambling interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo in which he compared himself and Reince Priebus to Cain and Abel.

Later in the day, the New Yorkerpublished an interview with Scaramucci in which the new White House official ranted about Priebus -- calling him a "f*cking paranoid schizophrenic" -- and top White House political strategist Steve Bannon, whom he said regularly tries to "suck his own c*ck." In the same interview, Scaramucci threatened to fire the entire White House communications staff, while vowing to "kill all the f*cking leakers" within the Trump administration.

Friday. The Senate Republicans' attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act went down in flames during an early morning vote in which Sen. John McCain cast what would be the fatal "no" vote.

Trump delivered a speech in front of police on Friday afternoon in which he praised the use of police brutality -- and prompted the International Association of Chiefs of Police to issue a statement reminding officers that it is not appropriate to slam suspects' heads into cars while they're being arrested.

A short time after that, the president sent out a tweet announcing that White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus was resigning and would be replaced by current Department of Homeland Security chief John Kelly.
