In a panel interview with CNN's Jim Scuitto, economist Robert Reich called out Donald Trump for touting high GDP and economic growth while so much of the country struggles.
"I'm not sure it's wise for Donald Trump and his administration to tout a wonderful economy when so Americans are still very worried about health care and health insurance, about how to afford college for their kids, about their pensions which are evaporating [and] about their wages," Reich said in the panel discussion with former Trump campaign communications aide Jason Miller.
The Clinton administration labor secretary pointed out that average wage is below what it was in 1973 when adjusted for inflation.
"Most Americans and most workers have been shafted and they are still in very bad shape," Reich said. "For Donald Trump to tell them 'it's wonderful, you've never had it so good' is not very convincing."
